I wore my necklace out to beach the other day & ugh! When I took it off, it was really tarnished. I think the combination of my sunscreen, sweat & salt water was too much.
But! I thought, perfect opportunity to share before and after shots of the DIY-at-home polishing. So... presenting BEFORE.... ![]() ![]() ![]()

And I use Wrights and a cotton washcloth to polish my silver. I don't wash the cloth--when it gets "too grungy" I throw it out & get another. You can use an old cotton tee or other cotton rag.
![]() It reminds me of cream cheese on the inside... I just want a bagel now. I don't mind my hands getting dirty, but you could probably wear gloves if you wanted.

So.. no need to be stingy with the polish... dampen the cloth a little, rub it in, and then rinse it off and pat dry. If your tap water is mineral heavy, you may want to use distilled or filtered water to rinse.
So.. here's the AFTER! TA-DAH! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ALL DONE! Thanks for looking!

Yipes! I didn't think that necklace was ever going to look the same again with those yucky before pics! But now it's back to being shiny and fab!
Hey, just a thought, I am curious how long it will take for it to become tarnished again, whether it be weeks or months. Could you be so kind to inform us (or atleast me) when it starts showing signs of tarnishing? I am curious, as I am interested in getting some Tiffany silver, but I am not one to clean my jewelry often, if ever. Thanks! |

Wow! Thank you for posting this. I have a bunch of Tiffany silver jewelry that I haven't worn in forever, and it's so tarnished. You did such a great job, and have inspired me to polish my own!
