Default Please Help. Re: Engagement rings
Hi I am new to this thread. But I do post on other threads on the site. But to make this short. My boyfriend and I have been dating for 2 years this month. We both know we want to get engaged. He always wants to go in jewelry stores and look at engagement rings. So far the only engagement rings I like so far is made by Tacori. But they are pretty expensive. More then what he would like to spend. We both agree on getting a round stone atleast 1.5 ct in the center ring. I was trying to know if you guys know any other makers who have similar settings like a tacori ring?

go to the site www.pricescope.com
it is all about diamonds, settings, dealers etc.
you should be able to find all the info. you want there.
plus, they have so many great photos of real rings/settings.

Hi Squeaky! Tacori's settings are heavily influenced by antique settings, so if you don't mind a ring with a history, you could always buy an antique ring. My two favorite sites for antique or vintage jewelry are www.faycullen.com and www.wannabuyawatch.com, but there are many others.

If you're more interested in having a ring with an antique look but want something new, there are plenty of companies that create similar settings. Fay Cullen actually has a line of antique-inspired settings on their site. There are also several jewelers that I've seen on www.diamondring.com that post their work on the forum there. Brian Knox of www.knoxjewelers.biz is one, and I know he does a lot of custom work. If you have your mind set on a particular look, a custom ring might be the way to go to ensure that you're happy with the outcome. You might want to take a look at some of the other jewelers on there to see if there's any settings that you like.

Don't forget to check out your local jewelers too, as you might be pleasantly surprised by what they have in stock, and might do custom work as well. Congrats on your upcoming engagement, and good luck deciding on a ring!
