I would try www.antiqueengagementrings.com

If you don't see anything there, go to www.faycullen.com

^^ i wouldn't trust e-bay too much, it's just too much of a headache for something so important. i'm sure your friend wouldn't want to doubt the quality of the diamonds (if they are real and if they are as stated). however, the ones that you picked doesn't look iffy at all to me b/c it seems like they're a big company that is just trying to do business on ebay. ebay obviously has gotten a bad rep imo, gosh, making it so hard to trust sellers. so, it's really up to you. just don't go for a seller that is new or doesn't have good feedback (you know, the obvious stuff).

the first three rings seem to be the same style but has a different caret weight, if you notice, the stock pictures also seem the same. oh well! i mean, when you browse online at zales or blue nile, they don't give you the exact picture of what you're getting. so, i guess having the same picture doesn't matter. but, i think your choices of the first three rings is way better than the 4th b/c, imo the value of the 4th doesn't compare to the value of the first three. though you might say that it's more expensive, true, but they all consist of smaller stones. you see what i mean?

good luck finding your friend a bridal set, how kind of you!!

I love E-Bay but buying diamonds on them I would not. It's too easy to get ripped off buying diamonds.

thanks for replying, i really thought the same thing but i didnt just find nothin at zales or other jewerly online, yesterday i found some barely of my taste at bluenile of course right, there are beautiful rings, but i guess this budget is too low!! and also im scared of gettin them from _bay to be honest.

i tried jbr. but i dont know were else to look, since here in my country the jewerly stores are sooo overpriced and for simple looks and also common.

Why not just get a diamond wedding band with the budget for now, and get a solitaire later when they can increase the budget? 1k can get you a GORGEOUS princess cut wedding band!

I would not do ebay for a wedding set either. I guess if you really know what you are buying, as far as cut info and what to look for, provided the auction has that, you could be okay, but it is risky.

I agree- go for a nice band! I am not a huge fan of chain jewelers for wedding sets b/c for most lower budgets they don't have details on color, cut, etc. and can overpay for what you get, but I think Kay or Zales would be better than ebay, b/c you can return at least.

Or, what about a nice colored stone for the e-ring? That would take the cost down.

What about this site? They could do a plain band to go w/ the ring. If they like emeralds, the company that does Asha is doing cultured emeralds now that are reasonable and so pretty!

yeah, does it have to be a diamond in particular? colored stones make a wonderful and unique alternative.

If you pay with credit card via Paypal and the seller is Paypal protected up to $2000, then you should be safe with making a purchase. If the product is misrepresented and the seller refuses a refund, you can file a complaint with Paypal and they will refund your money.

Looking at one of the links you provided, don't trust any seller who lists a diamond as SI3. That grading really means that it's visibly included. It doesn't exist in GIA standards.

Do you live near a major metropolitan city? You could try your local diamond district.

If you're looking at 3/4 carat and 1 carat stones along with a diamond eternity band, $1000 will not get you any sort of quality. I would recommend purchasing a plain gold band and upgrading to diamonds later. Use most of your budget for a diamond solitaire. You should be able to get around a .4 or .5 carat solitaire and plain gold band for your budget if you know where to shop.

my friend wants a diamond i think she doesnt really care for ct. that much.

thanks for noticing on that clarity issue, im really no expert in this diamond world and jewerly im more in to the bag area, i think that i should get it from a store so i would be more sure and that way my friends wont struggle.

there are alot of jewerly places here thing is im in a country were everything is overpriced of course and i saw the same price for some rings which on blue nile i cant get double almost double ct. for nearly the same thinkin that it is worth it to take the risk.

---- update:i went to bluenile online again but this time i asked the live chat to help me with 1k bridal set, they gave me like four links that now i have to show to my friends.
-one was the solitaire ring with a plain wedding bang.
-the pave setting went up like for 200$ more but worth it cuz its gorgeous.
- i think some vintage setting was also nice.

of course lil ct. but a trustable place as far as i know!
thanks again girls, i might post wut we picked in the end that could be another question or the final answer!!

^ You might also look at pricescope. You can limit your search by budget, I think and if they really want a diamond, max out the budget on the stone and do a plain setting.

Here's a link to the quick search tool. If you do G-I color and SI1-2 Clarity, you may find some other options than what is at Blue Nile.
