Hey Girls...
I just recently got engaged. My e-ring is platinum and white diamonds. Here's the skinny. I love and only wear gold jewelry, but when it came to my ering, I just didnt like the look of the yellow gold ones, so I let my DF know that I wanted platinum. Anyways, like 4 months prior I bought a new gold fendi watch, which I just adore!! now, I'm afraid I look mis-matched and tacky with a platinum ering and a gold watch what do you guys think of this? should I purchase a silver or stainless watch to go with my ering?? is it a big no-no to mix platinum and gold? I wear my watch on my left hand too, so it's pretty obvious. I need some advice!sorry about the blurry pic.. lame camera! |

No, it is not at all tacky! The e-ring and wedding band go with EVERYTHING, regardless of whether the metals match or not. Additionally, it looks like your band has diamonds down the sides as well, which makes it look more diamond than metal, if that makes any sense. In other words, it is the sparkle a person notices and not the metal, and the metals between the watch and ring do not compete with one another.
My set is yellow gold, and while I have gone back to yellow gold jewelry, I used to wear it with all white gold and never felt uncomfortable. Mixing metals is always in style, anyway. So do not worry, and enjoy them both. They do not look tacky at all together - they look GREAT! And congratulations on your recent engagement! It is a truly beautiful ring! |

I think it's fine..my mom bought a gold face, gold band watch (maybe a special edition omega?) last year and she has a platinum e ring on the same hand. Looks fine!

I think it looks fine too, now adays, people mix metals all the time. Many designers do it too such as David Yurman.

I used to be super weird about mixing gold and silver... (okay, I still am, but I'm getting better!
) but I must say, that looks perfectly fine!I think an e-ring can be worn with anything really. Love your ring by the way! My future dream e-ring is platinum as well. Luckily for me I wear mostly silver jewelry, but I still would wear it with my gold and goldtone pieces as well. And like others said, I think jewelry "rules" are pretty much out the door anymore. Plus, lately I've been seeing lots of gorgeous pieces with the whole tri-color gold, silver, rose gold look, and I like that. |

I think it looks very nice. I think it is very modern to mix and match between whitegold, platinum and yellow gold.

no problem at all to mix metal colors. I do it all the time! many many watches have stainless & gold, & no one thinks they look odd.

It's OK.....you can mix metals now. Actually, I think people would do it anyway, because they wear different color metals and you wouldn't have a different e-ring for each (maybe someone out there would). Platinum or white gold go with everything.
