Frick&Frack those are very beautiful and unique rings. Thank you for sharing them with me (tpf). I love the flower ring and the purplish/pink stone ring. Is that a kunzite?

lol, your not alone. I'm 27 and completely old fashioned, my husband likes to tell me I was born in the wrong decade... about fifty years earlier and I would be belle of the ball.

I've always loved larger pieces of jewelry, long before coming on this forum. Yeah, I do like jewelry that is flashy and gaudy. It isn't all supposed to look "real" it is just supposed to be fun. I do wear some real pieces, I mix those with my costume pieces. For me it's about being original and making a statement.

so do you mainly buy "loud" costume jewelry and keep the fine jewelry classic? Lately, I have been trying to get away from the costume jewelry because I had so much of it. I got rid of a lot of costume jewelry by donating it to goodwill. I think costume jewelry is a great way to explore tends and big/bold pieces.

Not tPF, Pricescope. I thought I wanted a 2 carat center stone. Now, I want something like 3. I used to stay out of the high end jewelry stores because I was too intimidated by them. But now, if I pass one, I go it. I even got to try on a million dollar necklace and earrings set in one once.

you're welcome! thought it was the best way to show what I meant.

yes, the purple is an untreated Kunzite (28+ carats). the flower is pink & white diamonds in RG.

That kunzite is beautiful.

AllisonFaye: I would just pass out if I tried on 1million dollars worth of jewelry. LOL!

I have no desire to wear ostentatious jewelry. Joining both tPF and Pricescope have broadened my horizons regarding fine jewelry and design options. I have become educated about diamonds and am learning about colored stones. I pick my pieces carefully and have sold items that no longer fit my collection. These forums have been a very positive experience for me and my choices in jewelry

I don't buy fine jewelry. I have a few gold pieces that were given to me, I wear them sometimes with other costume pieces. I have sterling stuff too. I mostly reach for the fun pieces, fine jewelry just doesn't excite me unless it costs like a gazillion dollars and that's just not realistic, I'm always looking for something unusual that's also a good deal.
