Noses as pincushions are not a good idea IMO. What happens when you sneeze or blow your nose.

The other ethinic group does not follow these customs, and do not follow the Hindu religion. It's hard to explain, but in my country the nose ring is an identifying symbol of a certain faith / culture. I suppose the closest would be something like in the US if you see a person with sidelocks and a skullcap, you would immediately recognize them to be an Othodox Jew, and one would not want to dress the same way just to make a fashion statement, but respect it as the expression of a different faith or culture. Dressing that way without adhering to the culture or the religion it represents is seen as a form of disrespect to the people following that faith, at least it is taken as such in my country. |

I had an eensy one. When I had my appendectomy the I had to take it out ... the hole closed up and I never bothered reopening. I thought it was really cute and might get another one, who knows?

My nose is not peirced, for its enough of a trademark on its own, I think. I have a very cute small nose, it's a delicate small nose the size of a button nose, but I broke it when I was nine. There wasn't anything I could do at the time, so I just left my nose alone. And to this day I am still wondering whether I should get plastic surgery on it or not to rid it of the bump on it. I often wonder how my nose would look if it looked the way its supposed to look, like the way it looked when i was born but it's still a small cute nose, and I'm afraid if I get plastic surgery on it they'll turn my nose into a huge ugly nose. I do not have it peirced because I think it draws attention to it, (its not a bad nose tho) I mean, instead of someone looking a your whole face, theyd automatically see the stud in your nose. (I do have two holes in each of my ear and I'm getting my belly button peirced, but I feel that with your belly button if you dont want it to show you can just pull your shirt down, or not wear a belly shirt, but a nose ring.....its just not me.)

This is an egregious bump, for reasons of sheer mischief, and because it got referenced in yet another overlong, rambling screed, to which I will have the kindness to post a link, so that after you have contemplated noseringhood, you can come discuss philosophy.

I have mine pierced as well as my labret, tounge, beauty mark, ears (2 holes)... I wear a tiny diamond stud in my nose but I have worn a ring which I really loved but decided that it just doesn't go with my style anymore. I love all my piercings and they are one of my many contradictions.

Shimma, I am considering compiling your posts and submitting them to Reader's Digest. Really. Your usage of words is melodic.
