Hello i don't know how but i just stumbled upon this site. I am tryin to get my girlfriend a necklace and my budget is around 1500, it can go over alittle. Any suggestions? I would prefer if it had diamond/s on it. I would also perfer something she can wear most of the time. i don't know much about jewelry so help me out. i was looking at this at tiffany. http://www.tiffany.com/Shopping/Item...n+6-ri+-ni+0-t+ its the tiffany nature flower pendant necklace. I saw in this forum that tiffany was over priced so i dunno. help me out. thanks,

When you buy Tiffany you are paying more for the Tiffany name, I think thats why some think it is over priced. In my opinion it depends on what the piece is. I have some Tiffany pieces that I love and think are worth it. As a gift, I personally would love to receive something from Tiffany! The necklace you picked out is very pretty. You could probably find a simialr style else where (non designer) for less money but it wouldn't be Tiffany...Aside from Tiffany if your looking at designer jewelry, have you looked at David Yurman?

It's a very pretty necklace. Buying from Tiffany will indeed be more expensive because, as the previous poster stated, you're paying for the name. But on the other hand, most girls would be happy to receive a Tiffany gift. However, you can always find a similar necklace for less elsewhere.

Has your girlfriend really been wanting a piece from Tiffany's? If so then for sure she'll love it - it's very pretty!
If not then you might look around elsewhere - for the same price you could probably get bigger stones in a WG setting. If you're searching for nature there's a local company here in Hawaii that makes some really gorgeous stuff based on local plants - Na Hoku. |

You may want to see this necklace 'in person' before buying - it will be very, very tiny. But that may be what you're looking for. Yes, Tiffany is way overpriced, they're riding on their name. You can get something of equal or better quality (and size) elsewhere for less. But some just like to see that little blue box, and there's nothing wrong with that as long as the person is aware and willing to pay the premium price.

Definitely see it in person. It looks like it will be very small. If she isn't into Tiffany, I'd find something else. Check out Nordstrom, Saks or Neimans for some pretty diamond pendant necklaces at a fraction of the Tiffany cost. Roberto Coin makes some lovely ones if you are looking for something brand. |

![]() Like everyone has said, you pay a premium for the box and the name. My fiance gave me a 3 stone neckclace (about 1 cttw, SI, D) a few years ago. He paid $750 at an independant jewelers. Imagine what you could do with $1500!

Thanks all for the kind words. I've been roaming more in the forums and like couturequeen said there seems to be some complaints on size. I was hopeing to buy it online but may have to resort to going there in person. Can someone tell me other popular brand jewelers? and i was hopeing some some of you might give me other specific suggestions.

I haven't had a chance to go to Tiffany yet but i've been looking around some local jewelry store and saw this http://www.littmanjewelers.com/Catal...oductId=887075 in half carat size at littman's. What do you think?
or ? it was roughly the same price as the tiffany's one i linked to on my first post.
