what is considered high end jewelry to get the black box? is it the price or the type of metal?

A lot of the time, jewellery companies aren't allowed to give out boxes because so many people used them to package fakes. If you have a good relationship with a SA you might be able to persuade them to give you one.

I get the black suede boxes with gold I purchase and the teal pouch and cardboard box with silver.

PlatinumSerenity I don't know how they decide on what goes home in the blackish-blue boxes but I know I have gotten my gold dbty necklace and my platinum dbty bracelet in one.

Thanks. Yeah that came with my Elsa P platinum earrings.

Both my YG necklace and ring came with the blue suede box, the signature Tiffany box and pouch. Meanwhile, my silver necklace only came with the Tiffany signature box and pouch :) I haven't tried asking for an extra box though.

I always get new dust bags with out asking. I often bring all my silver jammed into a ziplock bag and when it's all clean, they show it to me and then package them all up in the dust bags.

It depends, if you are not a regular client but have higher end pieces, they will still clean it for free and put it in the dust bag. I've had items cleaned within the same day but by my request - they were pretty good at working with what I asked for.

I dont' know the exact details. You become one by spending a certain amount of money in a given year. There are several different levels with different benefits.

Company policy is that they will not give out the blue boxes for any reason. They had an advertising campaign a while ago that the "a blue box is one thing that you can never buy but will be given to you with every purchase"

Customer service will give sleeper bags after they service (either clean or repair) an item. It's free cleaning and checking for 18K and platinum pieces - $5-$25 for sterling jewelry. However, replacement earring backs for platinum is going to run you $75 per back

The velvet boxes are only for 18K gold and platinum. If you buy an item in the gold salon or back room, it comes in a velvet box. Otherwise, no go.
