Default Michael Kors or Seiko?
I'm trying to decide between a few gold chronograph watches. I love the look of a big chunky gold watch! Although my dream watch is a Chanel J12...I don't think I'm quite there yet! Maybe as a gift for myself when I graduate.

Can anyone weigh in on any of these, quality and looks-wise? Is one better than the other in terms of quality?

The Michael Kors one is $250, and the Seiko ones I've seen on different sites for about $150 give or take a few dollars. I just don't want to spend a lot on a watch that isn't worth the price. ...Although I suppose these are considered cheap in the world of watches!

Thank you in advance!

save for the J12! it will be worth it...i know it will for me when i finally save enough for one...heheeee..

but if u really must have 1 right now, then go for MK. they have an excellent and affordable range of watches, imo..

The Michael Kors watches are attractive, but in the end, they're just fashion The Seiko brand, on the other hand, has reputation for affordability and reliability. The J12 is a fab watch, but out of the reach of people on a budget. Plus, it's only a ceramic. Ask yourself how long would you really wear it? Watches tend to have trends, so that's just something to think about for something that costs that much. If it were me, I would find a white ceramic that has the J12 look and bank the extra money, or spend it on watch that has a more timeless quality. JMHO.

Thank you! I do need a watch right now so I need to get one of these cheaper options until then! I hope you get yours soon though.

You are right, it is only ceramic. I'm no where near able to afford a watch so expensive right now anyway. When I finally am, I guess I will have to see if I truly want it. Thank you for your opinion!

Either Seiko or Michael Kors are fine, I think the Seiko are more. Guess also has Waterpro watches for about $140 at Macy's which are 40mm, but they have those crystals on them! I see a lot young women wearing those. They might have plainer versions, I just know what is at Macys. Love Michael Kors watch, but I guess I am partial to the Seiko with the interesting movement (one in the middle).

I love Michael Kor's watches- I just bought one as a side, fun watch. But, I'm not sure if you know, but Kor's watches are made by Fossil so they are good quality.

Thank you everyone for your opinions. I think I might go with the Seiko one in the middle.

I prefer the look of the MK watch, but Seiko might last a smidgen longer. Go with what you like, life's too short.

I like the one in the middle the best. I've had a Seiko watch for years and the quality is excellent. The gold coating on the metal doesn't wear off. I finally got tired of it but I still wear it now and then.

Seiko is a better quality watch--you can always sell it when you save up for the other one--and there will be more of a market. More people, both fashionistas and maybe older men will want the Seiko, the MK is more of a fashion watch.

IF you are strictly going for fashion, why not a Timex? 75 Bucks! (With the code HOLIDAY, you save 20% and it will be 60!!!) Brands are on the wane in this economic market anyway, so if you wear a Timex, you will be on the forefront of fashion's new thrift movement.
