My wonderful dear husband bought me a Rolex. I just had a baby and this watch was his gift to me. It's a two-tone lady datejust w. jubilee bracelet, fluted bezel, diamond markers and the face is gold with rolex written all over it (don't know the exact name for it).
It's absolutely gorgeous and sparkly and just a classic and I so appreciate the chunk of $$$ he dropped on it. But somehow I'm just not sure it's me. I previously didn't know much about Rolex and I've been reading everything about them now. I think I totally love the mid-size steel, oyster strap with domed bezel and MOP diamond face. I don't even know if I can exchange the one I have cuz it's past the 10-day period, but I'm considering (not for sure yet) trying. It's just more my personality, kind of retro, slightly edgy, less staid. So is the one I have more or less expensive? Should I try to exchange? |

I'd kill my DH if he bought anything I didn't want!
You may try to exchange it, especially if it was not used, but I think MOP will be more expensive. |

I have the same watch you describe but not with the gold face. I have it in white. The "rolex" written all over is also called jubilee face. I think it is a classic watch that you can wear for the rest of your life. However I think it is more dressy than your other choice. I also have a mid-size steel but not MOP and no diamonds. My mid-size does have jubilee band and fluted bezel. I think the oyster/domed combo is definitely more sporty. The mid-size will cost more than the ladies size cause mid-size is a couple hundred more and the MOP face is a lot more (I forget exactly how much) than the jubilee face. Both watches you describe are gorgeous but your 2nd choice (mid-size) might be better for this stage in your life. However I'm certain if you keep the original one that you will love it when you are older and will not regret it. If you want an everyday watch for right now, they may let you exchange because I'm guessing the other one might cost $1000 more. They might not be as willing to do an exchange if it was for a lower or same price one. Good luck and let us know what you decide. And congrats on your new baby!

it doesn't hurt to ask...you shouldn't be stuck with something you don't love especially at that price.

The MOP mid-size will cost a bit more.
You should be able to exchange the watch and just add additional money to it for the one you like as long as it's in new condition. Best of luck! |

Hey Hokaplan!! It's been awhile, since we were chatting about watches. I'm not sure I remember your reveal, so I have to go search for it. LOL--I'll probably find it and see that I posted a comment on it!! I have the jubilee dial too and really like it. Hope you are loving your watch!! |

fierysweet-- like hokaplan, I think a watch that it close to what your dh gave you. Mine though is a 36mm with a two tone band and silver jublilee dial.
![]() We are all different, but I wouldn't trade this one for the one you are thinking about!! It is all about individual preference and I think the best way to decide what is right for you is to go and try them on. When I first was looking for this watch I absolutely for sure wanted an oyster bracelet, but when I tried them on I liked the jubliee better on me. |

Yep that's exactly like mine but I have the gold face and mine is smaller of course. Wow 36 doesn't even look big on you! My wrists are really small...
I did try on the oyster bracelet, but in the lady datejust. I liked it, but when I tried on the jubilee band with jubilee face it looked fantastic. It looks WAY better on than in pictures. I actually think that if I try on the one I'm talking about there's a good chance I won't be as dazzled as I am by the one I have... but we'll see! |

So here we are. What do you guys think? The second pic also shows my smaller wrists and long spindly finger
I called the store and my sales person wasn't there and will call me back tomorrow. The fact that my watch has been adjusted might be a problem if I think about an exchange. Also, they don't have the midsize oyster bracelet with any diamonds or MOP. Just the plain dials which I don't want. Otherwise it'll be a jubilee bracelet, which I also don't want in the midsize. There's a good chance I might be keeping mine... |

They should be able to change the bracelet from jublee to oyster if the rest is what you want.

I like the look of the one you have on you. If I could have found a gold jubilee dial I would have gotten exactly what you have only bigger.
I really wanted the oyster band for the longest time, but I couldn't keep my eyes off the jubilee band. I am really happy with my decision now. Good luck with whatever you decide!! |

OMG, jubilee bracelet and jubilee dial...MY FAVORITE Rolex! I hope you keep it since it is a classic and gorgeous, but you DO need to get what you love for that amount of money. Congrats on your new bundle of joy!

I would keep the watch and forget about your choice. This is a classic and jubilee bracelet is easier to maintain as scratches are not so obvious on them compared to oyster. Moreover, two tone holds more value than steel.
