i don't know, after reading your story and seeing pics of your gorgeous watch, i hardly call this a "major rolex crisis". i honestly thought it was going to be something like you bought a rolex and found out it was a counterfeit.

i'm sorry, but your husband bought you this amazingly expensive watch after giving birth to your baby, and you're having second thoughts about it? this is one thing i would not consider a crisis, nor would i have a second thought about exchanging it. just my opinion, but i would be ecstatic if my husband bought me a rolex, regardless of what it looked like.

the fact that your husband bought this for you, without your knowledge, as his appreciation for giving birth to your child speaks volumes. and in this economy the fact that he can afford to do so, is a very special treat.

enjoy it!

I Love it! I think it looks great on you and its a classic style! I have a very small wrist also and the Oyster bracelet just doesn't work on me at all, the Jubilee looks sooooo much better on me! I would try it but I would keep this one!

Your watch is lovely and classic. Something that you will always have. Two-tone is especially nice because you can wear what ever metals you like.
Don't know if you can exhange a watch after it has been sized.

You're absolutely right! I think it was partly my hormones acting up ... It was also partly because I'm not used to receiving such expensive gifts, the whole thing made me kind of anxious. Like I wanted to make sure it was exactly what I wanted, kwim?

Anway, to update y'all...

I'm TOTALLY keeping my watch.

I'm back home now after being at my mom's for 3 months. We have an authorized rolex dealer right next to our house. I paid them a visit and had a field day trying on all the different models. Guess what? My dear, dear husband couldn't have picked a more suitable watch for me.

Now I can truly say I'm totally in love with it!!! It's a classic and the diamond jubilee face adds a chic/funky twist that I love. The size is great for my wrist. Yeah the mid-size is nice too, but really, I like this one better. I am also convinced now too re the jubilee strap. I've just seen a lot of oyster straps around and while I love them, I do think jubilee suits me and this watch more.

Thanks everyone for your input!

i have one like yours, only silver face. I wouldn't trade it, two tone can hold it's value plus, if ever your try wearing lots of gold jewelry you wont have to buy for another gold watch or the other way around.
