Hello ladies.
I am a complete newbie to TPF & this is my first post. I was hoping you would lend some advice regarding ring "etiquette".My hubby has given me a 3 stone ring for New Year's and I am not sure which hand I am supposed to wear it on? It is a 2+ct center with 1ct sides 18K WG. It is a rather traditional prong setting, very feminine. My engagement ring is very contemporary, a 1.3 ct set on a 1cm wide, 18K YG band. It is similar to the Etoile but has a full Plat bezel setting. My wedding band is 18K YG w/ Egyptian hieroglyphs on it, also very wide. I wear them together on my ring finger, they are not very feminine or traditional. Do you think it odd to wear an elegant & traditonal prong setting on one hand in WG & my modern 2 wide banded YG rings on the other? I have attached some photos for a better visual. Apologies in advance, the quality of the photos are a bit blurry. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Thanks for the advice ladies!

Lovely ring!
Happy New Year to you!!I don't think it matters that one is Traditional and the other Modern. Many Ladies have "Traditional" engagement rings but wear Modern cocktail rings on the other hand - so yours would be just the opposite. |

WOW what a nice gift! I don't think it matters either way, whoever is looking will be blinded.
I like that your wedding set is nontraditional, it is very unique. The traditional side of me is loving your new ring.

Thank you so much for the advice & compliments! I do not wear any other jewelry aside from my wedding rings, so it was very surprising to receive a new piece of jewelry.
Happy New Year to you as well & thanks again! |
