does anyone own or would think about buying a lanvin necklace? i'm contemplating getting one that i saw that i fell in love with but i'm trying to justify the $860 price tag.

I have one of the pearl ones...they make great costume jewellery but are expensive at the price (and the tulle is a little itchy)...if you just want to try some out, there are a lot of vintage Lanvin necklaces that go for 20-50 dollars on ebay...maybe if you like and wear them, you could go retail.

Sometimes they carry them at Barneys outlets. They are a much better price there.

i have a couple. on ebay you can get the tulle covered pearls for 3-500 depending on length of the necklace. vintage lanvin (not elbar albez) is much cheaper. you could prbably make something yourself with fake pearls and a bit of lace or tulle if you are creative...

I collect Lanvin necklaces and I think they're totally worth the price, if you consider that they hold their value in resale. I think it's ridiculous that people pay $2k for Chanel costume jewelry necklaces! So a $600-$1k Lanvin necklace is a relative bargain:) And they're just so unique and beautiful IMO.
