Default Italian style
Hi, I really admire the elegance of the Italians. I am currently looking at purchasing some new jewellery and I need some help.

Do the Italians prefer gold (rose gold) or silver jewellery and are there any particular designers you can recommend?

Many thanks,
shopaholic1987

My mother has a necklace by the brand Splendido. It is gold jewellery designed and made in Italy and it is nice quality. It can be purchased over the web in Australia at https://www.itvsn.com.au - surely it can be found else where..?! Often they have really good deals.

Have a look at the Mediterranian Gold on there as well - that is what I think is "Italian style".

^ I'm an Italian (and also half English)
:) I appreciate all the compliments! We get made fun of quite a bit stateside!

The past few years, my cousins in Italy are going through this huuuge silver/white gold trend. They rarely wear yeallow gold anymore, except very simple thin pieces. Rose gold is on the rise though.

Italy can be very "stick to trend" - for example I was wearing pointy shoes, and my aunts informed me that "everyone was wearing round toes" in southern Italy. In the US, we usually just wear what we like!

Hi! I'm italian ;D thank you for the compliments! so italian girls prefer silver or white gold like tiffany's but dodo's jewerly are in fashion, they're made of gold and as jeneen said they're simple thin pieces. Dodo belongs to the brand Pomellato, that is the site http://www.dodo.it/, they were more in fashion last years but they are still cute and every girl's got a necklace or a bracelet!

Thank you for all your help.

Are there any styles of necklaces and bracelets you could recommend.

I have a cameo necklace that I bought when I was in Napoli, I am thinking about purchasing a one in gold. Are they popular?

They're not so popular in that material, cameo necklaces are more popular in tarina tarantino's style! however in gold is a touch of elegance!

Cameos are awesome, you should definitely get one (a nice one, not plasticky looking even if you do get a fake one) whether it's in style or not! They are very unique and eye catching.

Thank you for the replies.

The cameo necklace I have is a black mother of pearl set in silver with gold its a small one. Is it worth buying a larger one or keeping the one I have.

Are there any particular styles of chain that are popular for necklaces and are bracelets best as a bangle or chain?

Also, I am looking at buying a string of pearls, are these still popular in Italy?

Thanks,
shopaholic1987

if you like get a larger one, it's a classic! there aren't particular styles of necklace on trend, strings of pearls are still popular, a classic too! and about bracelets many chains (or many little bangles, for example http://www.polyvore.com/pink_12_pack...ing?id=8036021 ) or one large bangle!

Just keep the cameo you have, you can always buy another larger one in the future. Any chain you have a pendant will fit on is fine. Pearls are very nice too. For bracelets I wear more cuffs and bangles, but I like chain type too.

Thank you for all your replies.

I am planning on purchasing this watch http://www.uk.forzieri.com/usa/produ...valore5=&c=gbr. What do you think?

So far in my jewellery collection I have a small 9ct yellow gold cross, 9ct white gold amethyst pendant and a 9ct white gold diamond pendant and my Cameo 925 necklace.

Bracelet/bangles I have a stainless steel cuff and 2 925 bangles.

Is there anything else I should add and should I replace my bangles with something else.

Thank you,
shopaholic1987

Bellissima! I love the watch!

Most Italian girls I know have delicate charm bracelets as well.
Your jewlery collection sounds beautiful. I think you should emulate the italian look if you really like it, but also buy what you like.

Ciao!
