Default ideas on unloading sterling and gemstone jewelry
I am cleaning out the house and frankly just have too much stuff, including jewelry.

the gold and precious stone stuff I'll save and hope to wear more often, but I also have a ton of real stone set in sterling pieces which I have bought over the years from mall stores, or Sundance catalog, etc. I do have an ebay account but I'm just too tired to list one by one and deal with the hassels since I have probably over 50 pieces. the local pawn shop prefers making loans. Really I'd be fine just getting rid of the lot in one or two groups not piece by piece.

any other ideas? or are sterling pieces so not worth reselling I should just donate to Goodwill?

The price of silver's gone up some, so you might be able to sell your sterling jewelry for it's metal weight. Have you thought about consignment shops? There are always some fun finds at the shops near where I live. Someone might find your pieces to be just what they're looking for.

My address is....

How about selling on Bonanzle? It's a heck of a lot easier than EBay and MUCH cheaper.

Obviously you'd still need pics, but the process of setting up is a lot quicker.

I went through a jewelry purge in the summer and went to one of those "Cash for Gold" events at a local hotel. They bought sterling as well as gold, and they included the weight of the stones in their total.
Granted, I did not have any big stones. Mostly what I took was chains, and microscopic "sweet 16" type jewelry that I had not worn in 20+ years.
I did not get rich but I got several hundred dollars.
My only qualm was my high school ring, but I did sell it and have not missed it- after all, when would I ever wear it again?
