Default I like the real chunky watch look....
I will be getting a watch soon. I think I want a rolex or something on that line. I am a girl, but ever since I watch the show material girls I totally want a watch hailey was wearing! It was a mens watch, but I am wondering if they make a watch thats chunky for women? If so, what brand? Style? Etc! Comment, please! Thanks ladies & gents!

Do you have a picture of the watch. Chunky can mean different things for different people.

I think I read in another thread you stating you are 13 years of age? This definitely influences my recomendations for you.

I would think that you may want to look at Michelle or Swatch, maybe even Invicta (as they do real chunky watch styles that you can afford to wear and then tire of). Also, you could just browze through the watch sections at NM.com, Saks.com, for some ideas.

Invicta is a brand that makes a lot of Rolex "omages." They look nearly identical to the real thing. Check out this $59.99 Invicta.

I also like Fossil watches. They have some large ladies watches. Here's a picture of my pink Fossil "Twist."

I cannot believe how much that Invicta resembles a Rolex!

I can vouch for the Invictas:) I had been been eyeing a mens size Rolex for myself since my husband has the Yachmaster, and I absolutely love it. I have 2 very nice $$ watches, but being a sahm I couldnt justify that big of a purchase on another watch(especially now).

I had read about Invictas,& I did a bit of research...well I found this on Ebay for less than $60 new, and it has turned out to be my absolutely favorite watch ever.Go figure!!LOL. Its "chunky" has great weight, and looks awesome.

My 12 yr old loves it but it is way to big for her,so I bought her the same style in the small size (25-28mm mine is 35mm almost sure).I feel comfortable with her wearing a less than 75 dollar watch considering her taste fluctuates like the weather, not to mention at her age thats expensive enough.JMHO

^ that watch looks great on you lolas!

I like that Invicta watches have a great price point; but, don't feel cheap - like you said they are weighty and substantial.

Rolex would last for a very long time if you keep up with the maintenance-- about $500 every 5 years plus the cost of any replacement parts if you go through Rolex.

OP: I'm sure we could all be a lot more helpful if you had a set budget.

OP I notice your taste is very expensive in watches....nothing wrong with that:)
My concern is your age, you posted somewhere that you are 13 so Im going to assume that your parents will be making this purchase for you.

If this is the case, are the comfortable with you wearing such an $$ watch (several thousands by your taste) & are they willing to pay that much at such young age??

I gotta admit even if I had the disposable income to buy a high end watch for my oldest (12yr) I wouldnt do it. There are many factors...and not one would be lack of appreciating,or her not deserving it. But if this is the level of gifts she gets at 12, what do I get her at college graduating? A Bentley??

You might be spending your own money(allowance,Xmas gift,etc..) but as I parent I still have a say in WHAT she spends KWIM? Something that pricey is going to stand out among friends, other kids,etc.. Id hate to draw that much unwanted attention to her, especially in a society that has kids mugging other kids for sneakers & leather jackets.

But then maybe in your circle this is what kids your age wear on their wrists, Im not trying to preach...I guess the "mom" in me just reacts

Like I said nothing wrong with great taste, but take your time:)
