Default I am still trying to buy a watch
I am becoming very picky about this. I wish I could afford a Rolex right now but can't so I need a cheap but nice watch. Has anyone bought anything from the watchery or kenmar ? Are they authentic ? Any suggestions would be appreciated. I need something with a face that is about 26mm, diamonds or swarovski crystal and nickel free, preferably mother of pearl with crystal or diamond markers and a hidden clasp. What is the best low-mid range brand for watches ? Thanks

hmm..I read here on tPF that authenticwatches.com sells authentic merchandise at heavily discounted prices - sometimes I go there just to look at all the photos and get ideas of what I like. They list cartier, chopard, ebel, longines, jaeger, rolex, and many more.

Maybe you can get some inspiration from that site - at least you know they sell authentic if you see something you like.

I can personally vouch for the watchery.com. I bought a high end watch from them and was extremely happy with everything. They are very reliable.

I believe that they are largely authentic, bought from who knows where-- probably authorized retailers who went out of business. But be aware that Cartier and many others will not offer warranty or service. Close-out watches usually have the serial numbers removed and aren't eligible for luxury-label service.

That said, I have had a couple friends buy watches from the watchery and they were happy.

you may want to try jomashop.com. Price is really good, but the thing is they are not authorized retailer. You are not protected.
Or you can try to find a jewellery store in your city, check out the local news paper, they always have advertising there. My husband found one store at the newspaper, and we went there, they have all high end watches, and it is authorized retailer. We bought a Omega seamaster for my husband. After discount, it is cheaper than the price list on Costco.ca, but of course it is still higher than jomashop.
I think it is a good time to buy expensive watches now. Bcz of the global economy crisis, i donot think the jewellery store is doing very well, so negotiate with them.
