Definitely take it back to Cartier or authorized Cartier dealer.

When I bought mine the Cartier store also gave me a Cartier cleaning kit - comes with a spray, soft brush and cloth to polish it off. Works a treat! Best to take it to them and then ask what you can do to maintain it at home.

I concur with the advice to take it back to Cartier - I have a couple of Cartier cleaning kits with a gel, brush and cloth. See if they will give you a kit and ask them how best to clean your tank at home.

There's no reason to take it back to Cartier!
Just clean it with a toothbrush and some mild soap.
If you want to polish out the scratches, use a Cape Cod cloth.
