I thought these were beautiful but I don't think they went with her outfit at all. I know some may think I am crazy, they stuck out to me like they didn't belong with her color and dress etc. I didn't even realize they were emeralds until I read this thread.

I was reading a lot of other blogs and other comments about her outfit. I think it's probably a hit or miss with different people.
Personally i think she stood out in her own way. with my star stalking of Angie, she has really toned down this year with more simple cut and solid color dark/earth tone dresses. I think with a black dress for oscars, people immediately think diamonds or pearls. But she went with a unique and freshing choice and I think it complimented her hair and features very well. Angie will always be in the league of her own with her timeless style and she may not always be fashion forward but I think the Emeralds green was very memorable in a good way. It really went well with her beautiful brown hair and brown eyes, had it been another person with other features it might not have worked. But i think she went with the basic rule of accessorizing: a dash of color with a solid black dress; statement earrings (no necklace clutter bare chest), statement ring (just one, no other ring clutter), Black clutch (no other bling to clash with her jewel) I believe it's a very suitable combo, because of the outfit it made the jewels pop. there are other ways to dress up this outfit but she did it very well. I almost expect her to do something like this... stoodout but not too flashy (again i think other ppl look great in Neil Lane and Van cleef) |

i agree; they are beautiful and caught my attention. however, i must say that in one of the pictures of her, she does not look as if she is aging very well.
