Default Elizabeth Taylor's book - My Love Affair with Jewelry
Does anyone have this book? Are there good pics? Worth buying?

Do tell!

I love this book.

fabulous pictures and stories behind the jewels.

it's like having a museum collection in your home (or, pics of one at least :) - worth buying for sure, imo.

I have this book and I love it. It has amazing pictures, and Elizabeth's stories about each piece are fascinating. Her collection is too amazing for words.

If you are an Elizabeth Taylor fan, as I am, it is a must.

Yes, it's a great book and it's been deeply discounted for years. I also got mine at Borders for about $10 a couple of years ago and I'm sure it's still available either through online sites or bookstores.

Is it all fine jewelry or is some costume? I think this is a definate buy as I've heard she's got arguably one of the best collections in the world.

There's a story in J. Randy Taborrelli's book on Elizabeth that she was swimming laps and just because, her beau at the time gave her a very extravagant piece of jewelry........Maybe if I go to the pool and do some laps DH will throw jewelry at me?........

IIRC, she was in a villa in Italy with her husband, and was swimming with her son and they were all playing, friends were there, and her husband brought out a ruby/diamond necklace and earrings....she was so excited, she put them on immediately and continued playing in the pool.

that's part of the charm of this book; it's kind of like curling up with Elizabeth Taylor for a chat while she tells the stories behind how the pieces in her collection came to live with her.

I don't remember any costume jewelry, edsbgrl....IIRC, it was all a drop dead precious stones collection that rivaled/surpassed royal families - GORGEOUS.

I've never seen this book, bt over the years I have seen/read about her incredible jewelry collection. Richard Burton absolutely lavished her with some of the most famous and incredible pieces (sigh).
The cover shot of her - ahhhhh that was the beautiful face that established her as one of the most gorgeous faces in the world.

...........& I *think* it was Richard Burton who gave her the "jewels in the pool."

Thank you Katel for recounting that correctly.
