Dear ladies/gents,
i am really in love with diamonds, although sometimes i am thinking... I know diamonds give Me the feeling, that this is a real thing, beautiful etc...but beautiful pieces are expensive!!! ![]() Now i got offered a set of beautiful ring and studs set in 14K yellow gold, great quality of CZ, great design...i am just thinking, does it will be the same beautiful in 20-30years? Is it better to wait and invest in a real thing, or buy and enjoy CZ? Just some info about me: i do not buy my things(jewellery, bags, etc) to invest my money or thinking about its return value, i just simple love beautiful things and i want to enjoy them every day of my life ![]() i look forward for everyone's opinion! xoxo MM |

i personally have CZ studs because i loose my earrings so i didnt want to risk losing real diamonds....and personally for me i think its silly to spend all that money on diamond earrings when you can get CZs and not even tell the difference considering they are on your ears!.....i get so many compliments on mine!

Wait & invest in the real thing...
.. to me buying CZ (I've done so in my younger years) sorta feels like "wearing an imitation handbag"...but I didn't realize this until after the fact of receiving some diamond studs as a wedding gift from my now dh at the time. The feeling I had with the CZ studs weren't the same with actual diamond studs. I also felt like the CZ studs over time didn't sparkle as much and got cloudier over time... even after cleaning them over and over. If you save up or bite the bullet & purchase the diamond studs.. I guarantee you that you won't regret it. It'll look great over the years as well. Once again.. this is just my 2 cents.. no offense to anyone. Good luck! |

I see nothing wrong w/ buying a pair of CZ studs now, wearing and enjoying them now, while continuing to save up for the real thing. I have both in my jewelry box. I wear both, it just depends on the occasion and what I am doing.
QVC's diamonique is actually really nice and they have stud sizes that are reasonable sizes- even 1/2 carat ones that are in actual precious metals. I'd check those out too if you have not already. |

For pretty CZ's try the Crislu brand. They are set in platinum plated sterling. Google Crislu and you'll find a bunch of stores that sell it. Nordstrom.com has it on the website

I'd wait for the real thing - no matter how small it is. But if you're really not into the real thing for future investment - then you can probably get the CZ temporarily. For me, I used to buy things that looked like the real thing - but since I KNEW they weren't real, they ended up not being used at all - so really a total waste of $$$... It all depends on what you really like. I'm a 38y/o career woman and mother so future investment is something that is important to me....

Life is too short, why not indulge yourself in the real thing if you can.

cz for fashion jewelry or earrings (not everyday though) that compliment a certain look.
i would not wear cz as a staple jewelry like diamond studs for everyday. I would wait for the real thing because its more meaningful and to me, if its on me everyday - it better mean something!

CZ VS diamonds to me are replica VS designer purses. They may look the same and have the same materials but they will never be the real thing.

Actually, that is not true, Londonbkk.
My jeweler told me that while CZs may look all sparkley & pretty at first, they do not take wear & tear very well & will look dingy over time. Also, they are not as hard as diamonds, so chipping is a possibility....just my 2 cents :) |

However, if you are just getting something to hold you over until you can get the real thing, why not? |

I too think it's a psychological thing, one that I fall victim too. Although today I did order the Tacori diamonique ring off of QVC. I'll take pics when it arrives and see if I like it. I have some fancy diamond pieces BUT I never wear them for fear of losing them, damaging them, or getting robbed. So what good is having all that if I'm too afraid to wear it!
