Default Diamond Riviera Necklace: which one?
Which would you choose?

10 carat diamond riviera necklace SI clarity, F-G color, center stone is .5 carat.

-OR-

18 carat diamond invisible setting necklace, VS clarity, F-G color, all are little diamonds set invisibly to look larger (so center diamond looks 2ct)

The 18 carat is about twice the price of the 10 carat.

And why? Also considering investment value of the pieces. I would think that the one with larger diamonds hold value better, but the invisible setting sparkles like mad.

I plan to wear this mainly for special occasions. Any thoughts are much appreciated. Thanks in advance!

I would go with 10K for sure! IMO many diamonds put together to look big actually ends up under valuing the piece just IMO though....

Yes, the 10 carat is the shorter size above, 16 inches. And the invisible setting is 17 inches long, lowest necklace.

Tough call-I think they are both lovely! The 18 carat definitely has a bolder look, and the 10 carat is more understated and simple (if that is possible!)

I guess it depends on which look you are going for.

What kind of earrings and other jewelry are you planning on wearing the necklace with? That should be a consideration, too.

I have simple diamond stud earrrings as well as lovely chandelier earrings. I also have some pearl studs as well. It all depends on the occasion. I definitely want to wear this out for nice dinners, weddings, and other special occasions.

I want a nice elegant look, but both are just so gorgeous-- ahh decisions!

I think it depends on the size of your neck. If you are petite then get the 10ct. If you are average or larger, get the 18 ct. Lucky you either way!

10 carat. It's much more elegant than the other.

I'm normally not a fan of huge or cluster diamonds but IMO the 18 carat has presence when compared to the 10 carat, which I feel would just be lost on the wearer unless she is very tiny/petite.

I can't advise if the value would hold for cluster style diamond pieces but I feel this necklace is lovely. And by that accord, it should still command attraction.
