On the mid-size stainless Rolex (Jubilee & fluted) I can do rhodium face with Roman numerals. But for $1100 more I can do silver face with diamond markers. If I decide on the Roman numerals and want to change it later, it costs about $1500 plus shipping, insurance, etc. Is it better to save several extra months for the diamonds
or should I pass on diamonds all together?

I agree - if the diamond markers are what you really want, and you can afford it, do it now. Otherwise you'll pay more for it in a few months and have that original watch face sitting in a drawer collecting dust.

If you prefer diamond markers, I'd say get it now. It's cheaper than having it changed later.....$1100 now versus $1500 later plus $500 for maintenance and adjustment which you will have to pay even if your watch does not need maintenance yet. Who knows, maybe Rolex will up the price for upgrade.
Btw, I believe Rolex will keep the original dial in fear that you may use the original dial on a non-Rolex brand. Well, at least that's what one of the SAs told me. |

It really depends on how you feel about the watch with the diamonds and without... Do you absolutely love it with the diamonds? and just like it without? If it makes a big difference about how you feel about the watch then get them now, if you don't have strong feels about the diamonds now, then maybe wait. If you LOVE the diamonds though, get them now!

If you REALLY want Diamond Markers then wait and get them when you can.
Don't get them because you think you ought to. There is no point in paying a little less for something that is not exactly what you want. If you wanted a designer bag but couldn't afford it right now - would you buy a cheaper one to tide you over? Probably not - you would wait until you could afford the bag you wanted - the watch is the same! |

I would do the diamonds now, as mentioned above, you end up saving about 900 bucks (1500 upgrade plus 500 for service= 2000, vs. 1100 now)
