David Yurman child's bracelet

I bought my daughter an amythyst Yurman bracelet from Bloomingdales when she was 1 year old. It was crazy as she maybe wore it a couple times. Now my daughter is 7 and it no longer fits her. I know that I have the store receipt around. Do you think I might be able to sell it or is it better to hold onto? I'm not having anymore children so I'm not sure what the benefit would be to save it. Now that I am older and wiser, I think it is a waste to buy designer jewelry for children, especially babies!

I'm sorry about your situation -- but I'm glad you're sharing it. I had been wondering about those bracelets and if they would fit my seven year-old daughter -- I didn't know they were for such young toddlers!

IDK -- if it were me, I would likely hold onto it and pass it down to your daughter when she has her own one day. It could be a little family heirloom of sorts. That's what I would do at least, but I'm probably a little more sentimental than most moms.

I would suggest saving it for when your daughter is older, then she could one day give it to her daughter if she has one and it could be come a family tradition. I have all my baby jewelry saved and plan to give it to my children when I have them someday. I think it makes a piece of jewelry extra special if it comes with a story/tradition (I cherish all of my pieces of jewelry that have been handed down to me by my grandparents, great aunts, ect).

I would sell it. I'm sure if your daughter has a child own her own (and if that child happens to be a girl), she would appreciate things like clothes or diapers over baby jewelry.

I don't know...you couldn't get that much if you sold it. My granddaughter has one of those Yurman bracelets that her other grandmother got her when she was born - my DIL has a matching one. I got her a John Hardy bracelet when she was born - when she outgrew that one, I got her the same thing in a larger size. I got a little smarter for her 3rd birthday - instead of a bracelet, I got her a blue topaz drop surrounded by diamonds on a chain - when the chain is too short for her (now it's long, and they would only put it on her for pictures or special occasions), she can put it on a longer chain.

I figure the too small bracelets will get handed down...I still have my baby bracelet that was a gold bangle - it's an antique now! My grandson is 7 weeks old - I wanted to get something for him that could be handed down as well, so I got him a John Hardy matching comb and brush with a silver baby animal on both...don't know how often they will be used (even though he has a LOT of hair!), but it's heirloom quality!

I'd sell it. And for others who are considering this purchase, I have several of the children's size large bracelets and they fit me just fine. They can be worn tighter as a child (and older child, not a baby) and then still as an adult.

I think that the bracelet comes in two sizes, one for "big kids" and one for tots.

and it's a good idea to keep it in the family too!

I have jewelry my mum saved from when I was little, it's so fun to look back and see how tiny I was. One day I would love to pass it on to a niece or daughter is I am lucky enough to have one.
