I was wondering before I purchase..
How comparable is Tiffany's sterling silver vs any other sterling silver rings? I know I have a sterling silver ring from James Avery and it is so soft that It has so many scuffs and scratches all over it. :( Is Tiffany's just as soft? Or is it a little more durable.. Also.. I was looking at the Tiffany 1837 ring in sterling silver.. What does size narrow mean?? Totally confused! Ref: http://www.tiffany.com/Shopping/Item...+6-ri+-ni+0-t+ Does that ring as beautiful IRL as it does online? Anyone have a picture of this particular ring? ^^; Also.. do you guys think that ring would be to GIRLY for a guy? xD TIA gals!! ![]() ![]()

I have 2 sterling silver rings from Tiffany, one being 1837 ring, but the thicker one. Narrow just means that it's thinner than the regular one, here's a link so you can see the difference:
http://www.tiffany.com/Shopping/Item...n+6-ri+-ni+0-t+ I haven't really owned any other sterling silver rings so I can't compare, but both of mine have held up well, they do have some normal wear but nothing too major, and I've owned them both for about 3 years. It's a gorgeous ring, but also very simple, and I think it could work well for a guy, I'd consider it unisex. |

I have several silver pieces from Tiffany, including some rings, and have not had problem with scuffs/scratches, and I don't wear my rings gently, and tend to keep them on for long periods of time.

Hm my Tiffany silver holds up okay, its more durable than the really cheap stuff but I honestly see no higher quality difference between my everyday Tiffany silver and my everyday Adina silver. : )

it may have a bit more "heft" than other makers, but doesn't wear any differently. it will scuff, it will tarnish..as will any other 925 silver
i have several pieces that have been given to me over the years, and although they are nice...i personally wouldn't pay that amount of money for sterling. tiffany makes an incredible amount of money off those pieces. |

My Tiffany rings hold up well but they look really blah because I have the roman numeral ones and it is really hard to clean in between the numerals.

It will be for all intents and purposes exactly like all other machine-stamped 925 jewelry. I frankly don't see the quality as being any different than 925 jewelry you find at Claire's or Icing in the mall.

Ah. Thank you gals for all the very helpful input! Guess I will have to look else where. ^^;
I really wanted something tiffany.. but if the silver is just like any 925.. then the price markup is pretty meh. :( |

I feel that their silver has much more weight to it. It just feels better than the silver from the mall.

their silver are more pricey than other silver cuz it's from tiffany. so it really depends on how much you like a particular item you're eyeing on.

You're probably paying for the style and name on it, so if that is what you are looking for, then it's worth it. 925 silver is 925 silver, so if the brand and style don't matter to you, it's probably worth it to find something similar someplace else.
