Default Choosing wedding bands advice
Hi everyone, I need advice in finding the right wedding band. My fiance and I will be getting married in few months time, and we haven't even go to the jeweler to choose the wedding bands. Both of us are not so sure where to start, especially this will be something that we wear for a very long time. If any of you could please give me some advice on it, it will be greatly appreciated. TIA!

Gosh, it's hard to give advice on wedding bands. There are so many different styles available to select from, and the style you choose also depends on your taste and lifestyle. Other consideration is the style of your engagement ring. My suggestion is for you to browse through the beautiful photos on Pricescope.com. The members there are very into diamonds and rings.

Mine is absolutely plain, rounded, and comfort fit. Just the way I wanted it

I don't know if you would rather buy from a B&M so you can actually try on some rings... It would be a good idea to see what jewelry stores have to offer, even to just browse.

I'm getting my hubby-to-be's custom band from greenkarat.com. They are really great to work with and I like what they're about.

Good luck and congrats!

I think that you should definitely go browse at a B&M store. You may have posted details about your engagement ring before (and, if so, I'm sorry that I don't remember), but there is nothing in this thread. May I assume that you'll want to wear them stacked together? If so, there is no substitute for trying on different styles to determine what you'd like.

Well, it depends on what you are looking for... Do you want matching his & hers ? There are sooo many styles out there, do you want them custom made or designer ready ?

Do you plan to wear your wedding band alongside your engagement ring? If so, you'll have to consider that when making your decision. If not, go with whatever takes your fancy. Grab your DF and head down to the jewellers.

Thank you so much for all the advice. I will check out pricescope.com. Hopefully it will give me some ideas on the design. I'm planning to wear the wedding band stacked with my engagement ring. My engagement ring is tiffany setting and my fiance is into matching his & hers rings (he did mention it before). I did went to tiffany.com website to see what kind of wedding band match my engagement ring, however, they are too sparkly (too much bling to wear everyday).

One of these days, I'll take him to the jewelerer in town to see what kind of design they have.

Thank you once again! your advice are really useful :)

We just went through a (sometimes frustrating) search for wedding bands.

My first advice is look everywhere you can to get a good sense of your own taste. Look online, try rings on in stores...do enough looking so that you know exactly what works for you.

We looked and looked and were getting frustrated. We haven't a lot of money for rings and our price range seemed to relegate us - at least as far as B & M stores - to mall jewelers. That wasn't for us.

We ended up visiting a local jeweler who does all his own stuff. His pieces were beautiful. And while there were pieces well beyond our reach, he also had pieces in the same price range that you would find at a mall. Only much, much better quality.

So we sat with him and envisioned our rings and worked up a rough sketch. It was so much fun! He will be able to give us what we want...rings that reflect us...on our budget.

For us, it was a fun and meangingful way to buy our wedding rings and I would highly recommend it.
