Hi everyone. I have seen some jewellery on sale and was wondering if any of you could tell me what the quality of CC Skye and Kenneth JL is like? Is it worth the money? Are you better off getting real gold instead of plated? Ive seen the CC buckle bracelet and leather wrap and the KJL pendants in the sale if that helps.
thanks xx |

The "Gold" of Kenneth Jay Lane tarnishes/darkens, but I still feel it is good value for its price. A lot of his designs were made in real Gold/Enamel initially, but is now 'plated' so as to be more accessible price wise to a larger customer base.
I have only recently purchased CC Skye bracelet so I cannot comment on the endurance, but it is very well-made with a good finish. Given their price and the rising 18Kt/24Kt Gold Prices, what you could get with the same amount for a 'real' gold piece would probably be rather tiny and have a lot less 'oomph' IMO!

I have that same cc skye black leather with gold chain bracelet as seen on nicole richie...do you know which one I mean?
Anyway, I have had it for over a year & it is holding up great! Good value considering I get sooo many compliments on it & it was only $120 I think. What pieces are you interested in? |

I never sold CC Skye, but I have heard mixed opinions about its durability.
Are you talking about the CC skye bracelet that looks almost like the vita bangles? The vita with the hexagons are on sale at Bloomies... http://www1.bloomingdales.com/catalo...e_with_Hexagon On the other hand, I've sold KJL. His pieces are beautifully trendy and oh so popular. Like all costume jewelry, it isn't going to stay pristine forever. I would buy a necklace or earrings before you buy somethihng that is going to get a lot of wear and tear like a bracelet or a ring. |

KJL holds up very well and has a great resale/vintage value. Can't speak for CC Skye but I have been eyeing some of her stuff.

I only own KJL, it's trendy and affordable. Haven't noticed any tarnishing though.
