Default Bulgari Save The Children Ring
I went out to lunch today and was walking by Bulgari and finally bought the Save the Children Ring. I very happy with it and the fact that $60 goes to charity is an added benefit.

The sales person told me that after much wear the rodium on the ring my come off. Has anyone had their ring for a while and found this to be the case? I have other jewlery that has rodium in it and have not had this happen although I was told this happens over time.

So far very happy with ring (was going to buy a purse on ebay and much happier I purchased the ring)

I'm still at work but attached this link. I'll take a pic over the weekend. There are two sizes, one is thicker for longer fingers or a male, the other is a little smaller but is a nice size.

I will as soon as I get home. So far I'm really loving the ring and the charity factor is an added bonus. The ring has engraving all the way around so I will take pics of the back for you to see. It is also a nice heavy weight and not cheap or flimsy

I know...for some reason I like the concept of jewelry + charity, it makes me feel like I am helping at the same time I am enjoying myself

Just took some pics with my blackberry but I'm so lame I can't get the pics to post. I keep getting a message that my pic exceeds the file size

I purchased the ring when it first came out. I was pretty happy with this "Save the Children" ring...until I took it back to Bulgari to get it polished. (It tarnished a little on the inside after 3 months which I can understand because it was silver.) I left it with them and when I went to go and pick it up it looked appalling. The ring looked even worse then when I took it in; there were spots where the silver had worn off as if it were plated. The SA asked me if I wanted to exchange it for the same ring, but I just asked for a refund. I understand that the money I paid for it was going towards a good cause, but the quality suffered. Had I known that this would happen, I would have donated the money to a charity myself rather than have it go through Bulgari.

-I have had it happen; the ring looks duller, not as shiny. It can be replated if you want. I so far, don't mind the somewhat 'organic' look of my rings without the rhodium...

Personally I like the look of this ring as a bold Bvlgari design and I do wish they had more offerings in silver, as it is my favorite metal (and Bvlgari began as a SILVER company).

However, I went into the Bvlgari in San Francisco and I asked to try it on. First of all, the SA was condescending as if I was wasting his time on a silver purchase even though nobody else was in the store.

Secondly, they do plate their metal with rhodium. Personally I prefer the high-polish liquid shine of naked silver compared to the dull frostiness of rhodium, and as the plating wears off, the ring will look much worse than regularly tarnished sterling.

That being said, I find Bvlgari has completely lost their roots as a premier silversmith and offers very trite jewelry unless you are willing to spend more than twenty thousand dollars on a piece.

This ring is a step in the right direction and part of its proceeds do go to a good cause.

Personally, unless you're absolutely in love with this ring, I'd walk down to Tiffany's for silver or Cartier for charity-themed jewelry.

I have a limited jewelry budget and Bvlgari certainly won't see another red cent from me.

But it is beautiful new and I hope you take good care of it - or simply get it re-dipped!

You know what SF girl?

I feel like a perfect idiot!

It looks beautiful on you, sooo elegant, and I really love the box. I hate doing the all caps thing but IT'S A KEEPER!

Trust me, you'll regret returning it if you do!

Thanks Tiffanysilver. I still have it and did decide to keep it. The charity factor was a reason but also my jewlery told me most white 18K is dipped in rodium so he said as long as I take care of it, I should be okay.

Thanks for your comments!!
