So if the 8.5 feels good in the patent get same in satin?
Also does everyone add a sole to them or leave as is? Thanks. |

I've left a couple of pairs and lived to regret it, the heel section on one pair had to be built up again. I got mine done at Arty's in NY in March and am VERY pleased with the results. Make sure your cobbler uses the very thin Vibram soles as one of mine got resoled somewhere else and they put this vile thick rubber sole on |

I really hope mine work. I read in one post that someone said they had to go up a full size in satin. I bought the satin but I haven't recieved them yet. I only went 1/2 size up. I really hope they work out. I'll be so disappointed if they don't. Everything else is leather that I own...

I let a pair of black patents go that were 8.5 vs 9 because they really felt a tad snug in the length and width near the toe area. They did not have 9 in stock.
I felt like I should have bought anyway since they were 40% off but comfort is key when it comes to shoes for me. As someone earlier posted there's very little difference & I'd rather them be a bit loose than snug. And the older I get the bigger my shoe size seems to get (along with everything else). But I am sure everyone's fit is different so who knows. I took my satins in (my 1st Lanvin's) in to have thin vibram sole today. Can't wait to get them back & wear them. |

I am an 8 but in a shoes like CL's, Chanel, D&G, Tory Burch, etc I am a 8.5.
It seems like flats with elastic backs definitely 8.5 in most beads so maybe sizing up to 9 in Lanvin was right for me. It wasn't that I flt that big a difference in the 8.5 vs 9 patent in length or width - where I felt more comfortable in the 9 was in the toe box. And in the satin definitely the 9 felt better overall. |

I'm an 8 or 8.5 in most shoes and go with an 8 in the flats. Because they have elastisized backing, the smaller one is better because then you don't walk out of them. They are so comfortable and the size difference doesn't compromise your toe.

Am I the only one not loving these flats?
I bought first pair in black satin at Barney's & had thin vibram sole put on. But the back elastic rubs my heels & the front of my feet (toe area) seems smooshed even though there is room. As noted I am size 8 in most American shoes, 8.5 in Tory Burch, Clergerie, CL'.s Taryn Rose, etc & bought the Lanvins in a 9 (39). Do I need to keep wearing them to break them in? My Tory Burches are far more comfy. Help !!! Thanks. |

Lanvins are one of the few pairs of shoes I can put straight on without causing me any pain, sounds like you need to just keep working on them. I'm unsure why you would go up to a 39 though. I wear a 39 in Choo's, Louboutins and Lanvins

i think your flats just need a bit of breaking in...i have to wear mine a few hours a day to break them in or else the elastic on the back of the foot hurts me too...

I wore them all day last Thursday form about 9AM-9PM and then again Friday night for a few hours so I will keep trying.
I went up to 39 because the Barneys SA told me the satin ones would not give as much as the leather flats and that there was so little differencebteween a half size that I would be better off going up to 39. |

looking on ebay to buy a pair, but after reading this thread, i'm a little uncertain about sizing.
I wear a 7-7.5 in US 37.5-38 in CL's I was going to go with a 38 in Lanvin, but should I go to a 38.5? I bought the Saks ones (to try out) in a 7, they fit fine, but I never really wore them b/c the elastic on the heel KILLED too much- so I figure sizing up is key. Any tips? 38 or 38.5? TIA xoxo |
