We had to go to the Apple store at the mall today to get my phone changed. Once we were done I HAD to go to Saks cause well, I was right there. On the short walk there I was chatting with my husband and asked her what he did with my invitation to meet Guiseppe Zanotti there. He said he hadn't seen it. Anyhow, I told him I didn't remember when it was but that I thought it was sometimes next month. He calmly, and knowingly, said "no, it's not, it's today" WHAT??? Turns out there was a sign at the entrance LOL.

I was SO not dressed for the occasion. I was wearing shorts, a Heroes tshirt and Havaianas. We went to the shoe salon anyway where I got the shoes and Guiseppe signed them. I got a picture taken with him and he sketched the shoes for me on a card. It was all so accidental but so cool. Here they are! (the picture with him is a polaroid and I have to scan it).

Those shoes are lovely. I almost wouldn't want to wear them because of the signature... almost. :)

My husband says I should probably get them laminated. I have other signed shoes but they are heels and the signature is on the part of the sole that does not hit the floor. I don't know how I'd get them laminated though.

Well I'm meeting him in my city on this Thursday night, I got and invitation to After Dark Party with Mr. Guiseppe Zanotti at this cool club, I have 8 pairs of Zanotti shoes, I haven't decide which one I want to wear and which one I want him to sign. Since it's at night and we're going to party and I want to wear high heels, I think I'll bring the flats like yours for him to sign. Here's the Zanotti flats that I want him to sign;

Awesome!
You should be able to get some kind of leather glaze over the signature. Call your shoe repair and see if they have something like it--it'd be a very durable, clear lacquer...

How wonderful!!!! I love GZ shoes - forget the CL signing happening here soon, I'd rather meet GZ! Good for you and good luck with laminating the bottoms of your GZ beauties!
