Default Getting boots altered opinions
Hi ladies,

I hope you are all having a lovely Wednesday! I have a couple of questions for those who frequent shoe cobblers...

I have a pair of beautiful Ralph Lauren knee high boots that are huge in the calves. I usually wear Jimmy Choos which are a tad tight but fit my calves well. However, these RL's are really large in the calves. Does anyone have any experiences having boot shafts taken in? If so, was it a good experience? Did it mess up the look of the boots?

Also, I am on the short side and many of my knee high boots are a tiny bit too high for my knees. Has anyone had their boots shafts shortened? And if so, how did it look and fit after?

I used to go to a great shoe guy, Arturo, in LA but have moved to Seattle and don't trust any cobblers. I will travel to get these done if I can find the right person. Thanks all!

I've had it done on Christian Louboutin boots. They came out good, although I try to buy boots with buckles and ties now because the process was a b*tch.

Wow, that's great. I will have to start calling cobblers. Thanks all! Kittenslingerie- can you tell me why the process sucked?
