^^^ 99% of affordable fashion is derived from high end designer runway creations....its a way for the majority of people to be able to wear the latest trends.....the bebe shoes are almost exact to the balmains but with a much better price tag...What I think is pathetic is when designers price their items at astronomical prices when another designer can come along, produce almost the exact same item for 1/2000th of the price!!!

^or think $2000 is spent wisely on a pair of trendy shoes....even if I had the money I'm not sure I'd choose to spend it that way...I think the bebe ones are nicer anyway...and the balmains look very uncomfortable!

Sometimes astronomical price tags are there to deter an item from becoming too main stream. Not everyone picks up an item because it's the latest, trendiest item that everyone else is wearing, some adore it because not everyone else in the streets is donning them (perhaps because others...like myself included, can't afford them).

It is fab when we can all enjoy fashion or be stylish at an affordable price tag, but the reason why e.g Bebe/Zara can come up with same shoes at 1/2000th of the price is because they needn't pay:

1) the talent that came up with the design in the first place (i.e. the Giuseppe Zanotti people), hence, I won't call them Bebe "designers",...since they aren't technically they ones that came up with the "design".

2) the marketing or advertising that puts those shoes on every magazine cover or celeb picture (that we are using in these threads), and hence draw our attention to them...

3) the materials (e.g. extra blingy swarovski crystals , etc, etc..) that make the albeit subtle differences to those who can tell the difference, and are hence willing to pay the premium price.

I don't own any Balmain shoes, but my Giuseppes are always comfortable. Those shoes are in Suede, and judging from the way her feet look in them, I highly doubt they torture.

Neither is a bad choice...or pathetic...Let's just enjoy these beauties, different strokes for different shoe lovers!

I think they are stunning!! I bought the Aldo ones, but I hated them when they came haha... way too biker for me and so not my style. I don't have Jennifer's stick thin body, but I definitely have her ankles... the Aldo ones gaped twice as much on me and looked ridiculous (like I could fit my other ankle in there)! The Balmains, however, are perfect, but significantly out of my price range for what is a (trendier) sandal.

^^I tried them on and they were so loose around my ankles so I didn't buy them.

Were you able to return your Aldo's?

Gorgeous shoes!!! I can't stop staring at them and drooling over those lovely sandals . I can't afford the real deal and so I'm hoping that *bay will have it on my size. A girl could only dream. BTW has anyone bought or tried on the Bebe ones? Are they comfortable? Does it look nice?
