Default The "Rachel"

On ET tonight they were talking about how Jackie O's style still beats out the hairstyle Jennifer Aniston so much hated.. The RACHEL.. It had me thinking....
As much as we think this hair style was a 90s style, it has transformed itself to long layers of todays hair styles..
what do you all still think of this look, and what did you think of it then?

I think it is a great haircut that can make almost everyone look beautiful. Like any hairstyle by the time it got to the mall crowd it got a little played out, but its a great concept.

it was a great cut, it lasted a long time and people were copying it. . . that's sort of iconic IMO.
No need to make the cuts compete though, they're very different, worn on very differet women in very different eras. Each symbolize their said era.

I thought it was really cute on her, but I was pretty young during that time, so I never wanted it for myself. I loved her hair when it was long and sleek in later seasons and when she had it in a short bob. The girl has great hair!

JA is/was a huge influence on hairstyles and style in general, just like Jackie O's hairstyle, Farrah Fawcett's, etc...

While JA's photo in that link looks dated, you still see a lot of modern versions of it with long or short layered bobs.

It might be weird but I'm probably the only one who likes her hair best in the first picture. But I'm always a person who likes the 'older looks' better than the new ones (I'm 20).

Personnally I like it when hair is a little 'messy' (not tangled!), that's probably not the right word though...

I really liked it at the time, but I have seen it done extremely badly many times since then!

I don't think the two styles can be compared. They each represented a very different era, and were icons within them. I'd personally choose the Rachel over the Jackie O just because Jackie stole Ari Onassis from Maria Callas
