I tried doing a search to see if there was any info on this but I couldn't find anything.
My local mall is getting a Sephora inside JC Penneys. I was wondering if you have a Sephora like that, how is it? What do you think? What brands does yours have? Do they carry Nars, Stila, Makeup Forever, etc? Do they take Sephora Gift Cards? I have been hoping for a Sephora in my mall for years and I guess this is better than nothing.
Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

My JCPenny does have a Sephora, but I have nothing to compare it to because that's the only Sephora I've ever been in. It has all the usual brands, though mine is probably a bit smaller than what I imagine other stores' sizes are. Yes they take Sephora gift cards, and you can also use a JCPenny charge card there, if you happen to have one.

^^ I don't have a JC Penny sephora but I have noticed on some of their deals and coupons that they will state if the deal/coupon will work in the JC Penny stores, which makes me want to assume that not all deals/coupons can be used there

It is an actual Sephora(scaled down a bit) dropped right in the middle of a JCP. So,yes they do take Sephora gift cards. The lines they carry very. I have seen Benefit, Anastasia,Stila, Cargo and assorted fragrances. I am unable to recall the rest. I will say I love it since the stand alone Sephora is about 45 mins away compared to the JCP which is 20 mins.

the JCP sephora in my area doesn't carry the more high end lines like Dior, Nars, make up forever... etc but there is a regular sephora in the same mall, which is weird but works for me!

Yeah, its more limited. Not everything is available. They do take Sephora gift cards but if you return anything and want store credit you get a JC Penny store credit and not Sephora Credit. And you don't get the beauty insider points automatically. You need to call and report your amount with the info from the receipt. It's convient if they carry the brands that you need.

Last time I went into my JCP Sephora I got my rewards automatically applied to the e-mail address I gave her...

The Sephoras inside JC Penneys sort of remind me of Ulta in the sense that they carry about the same makeup. The do not carry near what the regular store does...no MUFE or Nars or as someone else stated the higher end brands.

We have a JC pennys like that, thats the only sephora we have around here. It's not bad only thing i hate is they don't carry everything a regular sephora store does. It's kinda small, and you get about 30% of what they normally carry, no NARS (which i hate).

Mine did not honor F&F and the employees often have no idea what they are talking about (although I had that problem at a regular Sephora as well), but it's good for when I need a quick lip gloss fix and don't want to drive for 40 minutes or wait for an order.

Yup, same here.
If I need something basic that hey sell, I've sometimes gone to the one in JCP when the regular Sephora in the mall is crowded.

The only time I have been to Sephora in a JC penney store I was out of town and went in to pick up some Laura Mercier tinted moisturizer. They did not carry that brand which my local Sephora carries in its own store. I have never gone back to a JC Penney's Sephora for that reason!

Agreed. I never shop at the Sephora in JCP. One day, I went in and one of the employees was a 17 yr old boy! Don't even tell me he can answer my questions! In general, they try to help, but seem to lack the knowledge and training. To the OP: I've been to a few, and the brands vary but are generally limited to their cheaper brands.

I have a huge sephora store as well as a sephora inside jc penny. The sephora inside jc pennys are all small and carry only the top selling brands such as nars bare escentuals boscia ect.. the selection is very limited but I have a huge tip for you ladies...
If you want something that sephora carries online but that the jc penny sephora does not carry..they will order it and ship it to you for FREE! it does not have to be a minimum purchase either! :)
