There are quite a few versions.

Stella Incarnations:
"Stella" - the original. Comes in roll-on perfume versions that really make the scent last!

"Stella Absolute" - a darker, more complex version of Stella. Haven't smelled it in awhile, so that's the best I can do to describe it.

"Sheer Stella" - A new version comes out every summer, starting from approx. 2004-present. People who follow Sheer Stella have said that 2004-2007's fragrances haven't really changed much, except for different top notes. I discovered Sheer Stella in 2007, and I LOVE it! The 2008 version (pink bottle), is said to be the most romantic, most floral out of all of them. [I tried it on in Sephora, and I chose to stick with the 2007 version]

"Stella in Two" - this is actually two different notes from Stella, Peony and Amber, made into their own fragrance bottles & solid perfumes.
^^Thank you for posting. I've heard it called: Rose Absolute??? It's supposed to be the "rosiest" of all her scents - but I've never smelled it before.

Well so much for my perfume ban. I just ordered Stella Sheer 2008 from Nordstrom. Ah well...I am going on a makeup ban for at least a month...maybe 2...

Tea Rose. Its the oldest one around.. and so cheap. You can find it for under $10.00. I have been wearing it for years.

Tea Rose perfume oil is from The Body Shop. You can also have fragrance added to lotions (I guess, I haven't looked in awhile). It is really cheap and because its oil it is richly scented.

These are great recommendations - and I thought I was the only person that liked rose scented fragrances! I'll have to check these out!

The Toadstool Soap Company. I know I keep on bleating about them, but they really are one of the Great Discoveries of the Decade, right up there with Monistat Chafing Gel as foundation primer...

Oooh, I am huge fan of rose perfume. Here's my list (tried all 4):

#1 Woods of Windsor True Rose - closest rose scent
#2 Crabtree & Evelyn Evelyn Rose
#3 Crabtree & Evelyn Rosewater
#4 L'Occitane Roses des 4 Reines

I can't get Woods of Windsor here in Malaysia therefore I have to settle for Crabtree & Evelyn Evelyn Rose.

Never liked YSL Paris or Bvlgari Rose Essentielle. Never tried Annick Goutal Rose Absolue...if I have a chance I will.

Definitely Jo Malone's Red Roses. So light, pretty, and rosey, and not at all "old-lady" rosey like Grandma's perfume!

Anybody's Rose Absolute is really rose. Like sandalwood, the price of rose essences like absolutes and essentials has gone through the roof, but LibertyNaturals in frosty exotic Canada still has the lowest prices, unless you Know People who can hook you up with ancient old dudes from ancient lands who do it all by hand, and even then the cost is high, because nobody wants to shortchange the old dudes, they work so hard.
