Platinum Blonde Highlights w/ Dark Brown Hair??

I think that two-tone skunk hair is cheap and trashy to be perfectly honest. It goes with visible lip liner. Why not try darker lowlights or just a glossing treatment?

if you like a big contrast then go for it! my last hair color was mainly a dark brown with some platinum blonde and red streaks. it looked FABULOUS. not trashy. and i got nothing but compliments.

just be careful with the platinum blonde, if there's a few strands of it in some areas it appears to come off as white or grey.

and one shouldn't say someone's hairstyle is trashy. some people don't care for natural colors. they want to have more fun.

If thats what your thinking, go for it!
During my last salon visit: I asked my stylist to change my base color to very dark brown (to match my base color) and I always get platinum blonde highlights (sometimes thin thin strands; sometimes cm' wide strands).
I also like the off-white/silver look (in fact I use spsecial shampoo just to get that effect).
And to be honest: it may not be "natural" because im Asian but its much more flattering and it works better on me than my natural one-toned hair does. I think depending on your cloths, your skin tone, your daily makeup routine...

Caramel sounds like a really nice color, does anyone have any pictures of their highlighted hair (caramel or platinum?)

Platinum would be too harsh. Caramel would definitely be cuter and more natural-looking. =)
