I have a job where I quite often end up outside in 100 degree heat for 45 mins to an hour. I wear a sheer foundation and loose powder but it doesn't last at all in those conditions and I don't have the time or feel like reapplying after getting gross like that. I might as well have no makeup on. I don't want my makeup to look caked on either. Anyone know what brand or type of fondation I should be looking for ?
I have very fair skin that is blotchy. That is the main reason I use foundation. I was thinking about using fake tanner and giving myself an even healthy glow that way I wouldn't have to worry about the foundation as much. Any thoughts or advice? |

I'm curious what others have to say as well.
I usually use a tinted sunscreen and a matte powder in the summer because the application is lighter, but I'm pretty sure it wouldn't hold up to what you're describing. |

For years I used Estee Lauder Doublewear foundation which was great, although I did find it could look a bit cakey.
Just recently I've tried the new Diorskin Forever foundation which the SA told me is similar in concept to Doublewear but is a lighter formulation, although still longwearing. I really like it, it is lighter in texture & gives a long lasting but natural finish. It's meant to stand extremes of weather/temperature, but I haven't had cause to test this out yet! It comes in a liquid and compact formulation. |

I think powder foundations stay on better, like minerals. I live in a hot climate and my liquid would get disgusting from the heat, but the powder stays put better for me.

PRIMER
![]() In the past I always used either tinted moisturizer or powder, but it would still sweat off and look terrible. I tested out my primer in hot weather (100 and humid) for the first time the other day, and I was amazed. My makeup still looked absolutely perfect 6 hours later. I do like a more dewy look though. IDK if it would've stayed matte. |

I use Dr. Brandt pores no more as a primer and make up forever velvet mat foundation as a foundation. On top of that, as a blush, I use a liquid blush made by Daniel Sandler that is water based and lasts like a charm. If I get greasy, I use MAC blot powder. Hope this helps.

I always use Bare Minerals. In the summer I put a very thin dusting of mineral veil, then the foundation & then another thin dusting of mineral veil. It's always worked on my oily skin, even when I was a camp counselor & outside all day long.

I have the same situation. I use Neutrogena dry tough sunblock with helioplex, let it sink in for 5 mins or so then use bare minerals foundation which also contain an spf and help absorb oil. It stays put and won't cake. If I feel sweaty or its humid and gross out i just use a blotting sheet or tissue. For super long days I'll do a quick redust of bare minerals foundation and maybe brush on some of thir powder called warmth for a slightly bronzed/flushed effect. I have acne, but not when I use bare minerals. You really can sleep with it on and you won't break out (although i dont recommend you try that during the summer because the sweat and facial oils will make u break out if you don't wash before bed).

Just saw your post Deborilla and I couldn't agree more! This lady knows her stuff!
Bare Minerals can be found at Sephora and I think Ulta so you don't need to sign up for the infomercial autodelivery kit unless you want to. They even have it on QVC.com. It even comes available in a starter kit with three brushes, the foundation, warmth (bronzer), and mineral veil which helps seal it all in and is great for touch ups or to de-shine. They may even include their glow powder now which makes you look angelic. Its amazing. They make a powder specifically to treat acne spots but I find the teat tree oil to be a bit strong so i returned it...besides...I ended up not needing at all because my skin didnt break out anymore! ![]() |
