I'm not sure if this answers your question or is exactly what you're asking, but I've had the keratin treatment done 4 times and between treatments use keratin shampoo (coppola keratin shampoo/conditioner).

The temporary "effects" or way your hair feels after using the shampoo is similar to how the full treatment will feel, but the full treatment is more dramatic, obviously.

I sadly cannot use proteins either. Keratin is a protein, so it is a no go

Too much protein is not good. The keratin shampoos and conditioners only make your hair feel hard or bad if you have too much protein and not enough moisture.
The keratin treatments have never made my hair feel this way It's a very different product that they use compared to a shampoo or conditioner.

I have had keratin treatments done on my hair for the past few years. I only use the keratin shampoo and conditioner for the first 2 weeks after I get the straightening done my hairdresser does not recommend using it any longer.

Hm..I think it's probably a no-go for me. I use moisturizing shampoo and conditioner on a regular basis, but if I use one of those protein shampoos it immediately feels yuck. I guess I'll just stick to what I do now. Thanks for the help, everyone!

Not for me, it's a disaster for me.

I have it done a few times a year. The copolla keratin hair treatment, not the Brazilian blow out. I love it, but it's so pricey (300 dollars and up) that I don't know if I can keep keeping it up. For the record, I have very thick super curly hair and a lot of it. My hair is also bleached to a medium dirty blond color, and naturally it is almost black.
It does make your hair extremely shiny and healthy, but they will highly recommend that you only use keratin hair products. I don't really mind, but people who have their tried and true conditioner/styling cream products might mind this. It makes the treatment last longer this way.
It will not make your hair pin straight if you have very curly hair. But mine is more manageable, easier to straighten and much much better.
They say it lasts six months. In my honest opinion, on my hair at least, the relaxing effect (where the curl is loosened) lasts only three months, but you will be pretty much frizz free for five or six months.

See my vest!
Bump...

I was talking to BF about straightening my hair next month, and he offered to pay for half my appt as a gift so I can go this week...so it looks like I am going Friday at 6!

I like tea tree shampoo, and I was wondering if Trader Joe's Tea Tree shampoo/conditioner is ok? It's sulfate free.

I am excited. My hair has finally grown out to decent length...about 1/3 down my back. My hair is soft but very curly and fine. I can't wait!
