How do you tan? I admit I still use tanning beds but I wish I didn't. I use a tanning bed about once a week (20 minutes on the least expensive bed - Level 1) in the spring months and about once a month during the rest of the year.

I have used spay tans in the past but I feel so self conscious about the color. It just doesn't seem to look as natural. I read that Brit girls are all gaga over Kate Middleton's spray tan color. I had no idea Kate spray tanned. Am I the only one who didn't know her color was fake? She looks so gorgeous. The Brits call it the MiddleTan. Cute! I thinks it's time to give it another try.

At this point I get spray tanned when I need one. I used to tan in the tanning bed but any more it kind of freaks me out to think about sitting in there. Plus I fear it will just dry my skin out and since I am getting older (35) I don't figure I need any help in that department. I just wish spray tanning weren't so expensive.

Tan in a tube!! Clarins is great, and I also like St. Tropez products--they smell better than Clarins, and have a product that is also a moisturizer, so saves you a step.
I'm very pale, had never used a self-tanner before, but would highly recommend these. Nice, natural tan and no orange!

Forgive any typos, I'm on my iPhone!

Unfortunately I use a tanning bed, but will quit after the summer. I have a special event in August and would like to build a nice tan until then.

I go to the tanning bed 1-3 times a week, regular bed for 10 minutes each time.

I never tried spraytan and I cant find a good self tanner.

St. Tropez tanning mouse is awesome. I bought it after reading the reviews on Sephora and have been using it ever since. I apply with the mitt 2-3 x a week. It's awesome and very very natural looking.

Used to be a tanning bed aholic. All my life. Am paying for it now with several pre-cancerous lesions removed. :-(

I just wanted to say that at age 40, I can no longer tan in the sun at all (I have to use 70SPF on my entire body). I have brown spots, reverse pigmentation (where most of my skin tans except for permanent white dots all over my skin), enlarged pores on my nose, and fine lines/wrinkles. I have also had two moles removed and one was in an area that would have only seen the light of my tanning bed days. Just thought I might offer a glimpse into the future for those tanning bed users out there. If I could go back and change anything - I would have avoided all that time in the sun and more importantly, I would NEVER have used tanning beds. There really is no excuse in a day and age where sunless tanning products can offer you a gorgeous tan and in many cases, it can look better than the color achieved in tanning beds.
I'll step down from my soapbox now...

Literally amazing!
I don't "tan" because I like my skin both pale and tanned, but I get darker pretty easily when it's sunny outside. No redness or freckles...

OMFG.
i don't tan. i am fair skinned and blonde. My mother had melanoma at the age of 40. I don't want to repeat her mistakes. I am not pastey but definitely am on the paler side. The only color I do get is usually from bronzer. I use it like it's my job!

Really, I do apply for the second bottom 2 options, but I did choose the second-to-last.

I'm an N or NW10 in MAC terms, I burn, but it doesn't turn into a tan - I just peel then freckle, so I don't bother. I have gotten a spray tan a couple of times, but I never did my face - just my body. I do wear bronzer everyday practically.

I'm perfectly okay with being pale (apart from foundation shopping being a bish and a half), but I do mix bronzey highlighters with lotion to cut the milk bottle look on my limbs if I'm going out.

I don't tan, at least not intentionally. When I am outside doing some gardening, I get a little tan. I use Clarins self tanner for the face. It gives very subtle color.

I choose "other". I tan outside in the pool but I don't "lay" there anymore.
