Default Getting a haircut tomorrow - HELP!
I am getting a haircut tomorrow because I want to be able to wear my hair straight or curly - I just got a ghd and I want to use it! I love long hair and how it looks on me (to a point, it's too long right now) so I would prefer to not go TOO short, but I can't have hair this long anymore because it just doesn't look good.

Also, my hair is still very thin on top (it thinned out horribly after my dad died and is just starting to re-thicken now) and I am not willing to go very short. I just want it to be more versatile, manageable, and healthy.

Here are some pics! Unfortunately my hair was still semi-wet in them so you can't get a great look , but I welcome all ideas! And don't mind my goofy face in the first picture, I swear I do not really look like that.

Thanks everyone!

I thought layered hair gives the hair some volume. Hope that helps.

Hmm, I'm not very good with curly hair bc mine is stick straight but my friend has curly hair like yours and recently got it cut and I think it looks awesome. She said she wanted to keep ther length but wanted to "lighten" it up. Basically what the stylist did was give her some long layers (nothing too short bc she didn't want it to get choppy and wonky when it dried) and take off some of the length all over. Also, somehow the stylist managed to make it so the curls frame her face perfectly. This has helped my friend when she doesn't have the time to really style it bc with a little Fekkai glossing cream she can let it airdry and she doesn't get the dreaded triangle thing she used to where it would just kind of all poof out at the bottom and look heavy. When she has the time she straightens her hair and the longer layers give it great movement. I hope this helps bc I don't speak "curly" all too well. I am trying to think of a celeb to use for reference but am drawing a blank.

I second the layers and maybe 2-3 inches off the bottom? It would take some of the weight off while still keeping it long and give it more volume.

My friend has pretty curly hair like yours and she got it layered throughout from top to bottom giving it a full shape (but not BIG) all over - I think you should try that with the longest piece a few inches below your shoulders and the shortest piece about cheek level. I know you don't want to cut off a lot of length, but I think bringing it to or above you boobs should give it more bounce and movement. My friend used to have hair layerd towards the bottom only, which was pretty too, but sometimes that can give you triangle head if it gets toooo full at the bottom.

PS You are beautiful!

Lookin good, Nooch!

I'd just cut off about 6 inches from the bottom and add some layers...

Okay, I walked in and my stylist was all excited because every time I walk in there, she thinks it's gonna be the time I let her do a big chop. So I said...

CHOP!

Here it is - I could not be happier. I look SO GOOD! The length was somehow making it look THINNER than it is - you can barely tell how thin it is now I am so happy!

it looks great!!

i was going to give the advice of doing the length exactly like you did. that length is perfect for being able to keep it curly or be able to straighten it quickly.

I have the same problem with my hair, if i have longer layers at the top then it weighs my hair down and gives the top part of my head a thinned hair look. so i just tell my stylist "layers layers layers!" i used to be scared of short layers but not anymore1

Nooch,
The cut is perfect. I was going to post try a blunt cut because I thought layers might make your hair puff out. My friend has that problem.
You look amazing----before you were stunning but with the curls and all the hair gone it makes your beautiful face become the focus. Your hair looks very healthy too.
You go girl......with the weight loss and attitude and now this change you seem to have it all together.
What did hubby say when he first saw your new look?

pretty pretty pretty!

I don't think it looked thin before or after, but I never saw your hair when it was thicker.
