Default Does your SO get pedicures??
*OK I am not sure if this is the right place for this so MODs move if necessary*

My bf refuses to get a pedicure saying he thinks only 'gay guys' get pedicures. I know plenty of straight guys get it done. So my question is does your SO get pedicures and did you have to make them go or did they want to? Its starting to become an argument with us because I really thinkg he should go LOL Thanks!!

a past boyfriend use to get pedicures. They didn't paint his toenails or anything. lol he just loved the massages and that they clipped his fangs.

I see plenty of husbands/boyfriends and even individual men going to get pedicures. Sometimes even a manicure

no. . . totally not a priority for my DH. He's done it before, but it's just not him.
You guys argue about it?
I'm sorry, seems like a pretty shallow reason to be an 'issue'.
He doesn't want to and it's not him . . . why try and change that?

Arnold Schwarzenegger gets mani pedis. Before his governator days, he would get upset if he couldn't get in for his routine mani pedis.

What does your bf have to say now?

I used to live in Miami, and tons of guys (both gay and straight) get manis and pedis there...I personally think it's great! I love a well-groomed man. My father actually goes in for manis sometimes and my mom and I encourage it -- he's a professional and it looks very clean, plus it's very relaxing. He truly enjoys it (which is the most important part).

But I gotta agree with Swanky on this one...if your BF is really opposed to it, I wouldn't push the issue. Life's too short to quibble over stuff like a mani or pedi.

I *strongly suggested* to DH that he get them on a regular basis. I'm happier now, lol. Gross feet are a major pet peeve of mine.

^^^me too. Can't stand funky feet on anyone. (reponse to Aslan's comment)

I'm in Vegas so you always see men in salons, spas, etc all the time. Now DH is doing this regularly, think he enjoys it. At first he only wanted the last appointment of the day, now he doesn't seem to care if someone sees him.

We have stone floors throughout, wear no shoes in the house so both of us get rougher skin on our feet quicker than normal.

Glad you understand what I am saying. I dont even need it to be a routine, just once would be nice.

I hate feet to begin with, so gross feet creep me out. I just wanted my bf to know that more guys than he thinks get it done.

My husband hasn't gotten a pedicure. I think he's a little wary about going there because of that whole "gay" thing. I assure him that I see plenty of men in the salons when I go, and that he's being unreasonable. So he keeps saying that he'll go with me, but he hasn't yet. Meanwhile, he has no qualms with asking ME to pedicure his feet. Of course, I haven't even gone there. I don't press the subject though; his feet aren't actually that bad.

I took mine once - he felt funny at first - I surprised him by taking him there... so he ran next door to the kwik store and bought some 'MAN' magazines like Men's Health and ESPN so he wouldn't feel so girly.

I think he secretly liked it though.
