I'm usually a lurker but I'm curious. Is anyone going to the Vampire Diaries convention in San Francisco later this month? As of right now I only plan on going Saturday.

Also, has anyone been to a Vampire Diaries convention before? This is my first one so I'm both excited and nervous lol

Totally jealous! I was going to go to the one in Chicago but then Ian backed out and a bunch of other stars so it wasn't worth it. lol. Let us know how it goes!!

Was wondering if anyone watched their panel at Comic Con? I was kind of surprised at some of their personalities (esp. Jeremy).

Nothing too great was said though.

This could very well just be me, but he sounded like such an airhead. Every time he spoke it just grated on my nerves. He seemed annoying and just plain old dumb/silly. That is my 2 cents.

Trust me, it kills me to say this as I am such a fan of the show and all of the characters.

I will say something positive though! Ian Somerhalder came across as a genuinely nice guy.

He didn't show for Unleashed (a fundraiser that was advertised with Ian being the spokesperson). He cancelled 2 weeks before the event. People payed thousands (donations and travel plans) and were completely disappointed. I went anyway because I love St Tammany Humane Society, but I have to admit that it jaded my feelings for him.

I don't like Steven at all. He just seems so full of himself.

I couldn't agree more, admat. I'm not one to really listen to cast interviews or anything (besides Ian, Nina or Paul), but I was taken aback when Steven started speaking. Was in full blown shock at how he came across and sounded. It seemed, at least to me, that he thought he was the funniest/most clever person and he just was not.

Disappointed in hearing that Ian backed out of that event. I had heard such wonderful things about him so that surprises me.

Anyone else hear any stories about the cast in real life?

Can't wait for the new season!!

I was at the panel and there was definitely a different vibe from everyone compared to last year. Last year they were energetic and playful and interacted more, whereas this time it seemed like they didn't especially get along? You could tell, for example, that the True Blood cast like one another (or at least convincingly act like they do) but I don't know, maybe they were just all tired. I completely lost my Jeremy crush, too, because either he was super nervous or he's a bit obnoxious.

I was surprised by the audience reaction. It was very 'meh' compared to previous years. Ian got the most applause, though, as usual

Besides Jeremy, Stefan came off like a jerk. He seemed obnoxious as well.
