I remember when Ellen first found her on Youtube, then she came on her show. She is incredible. It bugged me when Oprah took the credit for finding her. But anyways...Celine is so sweet for singing with her.

I cried!
Isn't it amazing how Nancy has brought to the forefront support for Breast Cancer that never existed before. She kept her promise to her sister and has made a positive impact that is incredible! |

Definitely a moving and informative episode. Nancy really is an example of what just one person can do...
My sister is walking in the Avon walk in a few weeks and had to raise $2000 to join-- you think of all that money and the money the Susan G. Komen foundation raise and think eventually a cure has to be found. |

I wish I would have seen this.
My mom is a breast cancer survivor so the disease has a special place in my heart. |

I've never been a huge fan of Oprah; but, this season seems especially "blah".... anyone else think so?
And, interestingly, it seems she does very few shows anymore on the "inner self." I made a point of watching her show last Friday that was supposed to make you "laugh til your cheeks hurt" with Chris Rock, Ben Stiller, etc.... I did NOT think the show was funny at all (one of the topics was sex addiction.... how is that hilarious????) |

I usually like Oprah but the shows with the 'stars,' I usually try to miss.
And the show yesterday about Lisa Ling & free range chickens, was just another who cares if I miss it. No offense intended. |

I actually have been watching more of her lately. Before, she was just another show like Maury or Montel. I'm glad someone with such influence is tackling some other issues, like puppy mills and animal welfare since it's obviously important to her also. There aren't many shows out there as diverse than hers now, so it gives her viewers more subjects to think about and choose from, even if doesn't specifically pertain to them. I like her celeb shows too, depending on who it is, but I'm not that into them and have been more focused on real life.

Did anyone see today's episode regarding this mom Brenda who accidently left her 2 years old daughter in her car for 8 hours because she was just too overwhelmed with so many things to do. She forgot to drop off her child at daycare because it was out of routine (her hubby who usually is the one who does the daycare duties switched with her that day due to an appt) and went straight to work where she teaches at a school. Sadly, the child died from heat stroke.
Lesson of this show - learn to slow down in your life. I totally agree. I remembered when first DS came into my life, it felt like there was just too many things to do - felt like Super Mom and not enough time in the day to get everything done. Not as drastic as mentioned in the episode but I remembered I went grocery shopping with my first DS (only child at the time) I forgot to buckle him into his car seat after loading the groceries in the car. I orginally put him in his car seat but proceeded afterward with the groceries. Thank gawd the grocery store was not too far from my house and he was sleeping and not moving around. I didn't realized he was not buckled in until I got home. ![]() Now that I have two kids, I take caution at everything I do and make sure I don't rush and allow myself enough time. |
