I'm glad you said this. I love Oprah, but I have noticed this as well. She seems more abrasive too than she used to be. I can't quite put my finger on it.

And when you say she doesn't do her homework, what do you mean?

^^ "Doesn't do her homework" - This isn't anything new, she never prepared very much for her guests. Often she seems so uniformed and flying by the seat of her pants, so to speak, which she does very well, but it is obvious she doesn't do any research before hand.

I agree with much that has been said about Oprah. She seems either preachy or a know it all, these days. This show had several things which turned me off. the first was that curvy girls shouldn't carry a "round" (I took this to mean a hobo) shaped bag because it makes you look even rounder... Oh so now we need to worry our handbag shape is making us look fat?? And I tend to get annoyed with the whole notion that stillettos make you look leaner! No wonder a lot of women have self image problems. but the worst was the peep toed high heeled boots segment. C'mon Oprah you're in Chicago... Does anyone walk around with their toes out in winter in Chicago?? Can we say instant frostbite...

I guess the moral of her story is that as long as you don't look "round", it doesn't matter if you have frostbite!

I definitely agree that Oprah seems much more snooty these days.

Ya know what bugs me to death?? When she says things twice, like "We'll be back in a moment, we'll be back in a moment." She was doing it yesterday with the boots too.

And yes her interrupting has gotten way out of control.

That's the thing I hate the most! When she doesn't have anything to say and is trying to fill dead air, she'll say it twice. Say it twice.

Yes, the women who travel in limos... or women like Oprah who only have to hobble on stage and not to the subway. Oprah admits she can't walk in them.

A co-worker of mine was in the audience for one of her shows and she said that someone has to help Oprah out of her chair during commercials. Her shoes immobilize her.

YES! And, God forgive me for nitpicking, but she's always invited people to sing, claimed to have loved the song and didn't know a damned word to it!

Default Charla Nash on Oprah
Mods, not sure if this is the right sub so please move if it is not.

I just watched Charla Nash the woman mauled by the chimp in CT last winter.
What a courageous woman she is. Such spirit she showed and how she remained calm through so many questions.
Bravery - she is unbelievable to go on national tv to reveal the damages of the attack.
What grace - she brought tears to my eyes.

I just started a thread in the TV section! Didn't know where to put it. I agree with you. She does not want to know the extent of her injuries. I almost feel like knowing all that stuff really does limit you "oh i'll never be able to do this or that". Instead she is just living every day and moving forward with her life. I couldn't believe she took off her veil but I hope people are understanding.
I didn't even know you could sue a regular person for up to $50 million. Where does one get that kind of money from? I just think if I were sued for that much I'm not even sure how I could ever repay for that...I couldn't.

She is also suing the state of CT for $150 million because a state official warned that the chimp was a danger. If remember correctly, it has to be decided whether the case "can be heard". It was in the news recently but I didn't listen closely.

Default Chimp attack victim does Oprah interview..GRAPHIC!
http://www.aolhealth.com/condition-c...ck-charla-nash

All I can say is 'WOW'..
She must be a strong person to show her injuries on national TV..
Bless her heart..
I know I would not be able to..
I really admire her.
I didn't think she would ever go public..
Damn, I hope she was compensated big time..

Im sure she will look somewhat 'normal' at some point..
reconstructive surgery these days is amazing...

I hope she knows the whole country is rooting for her and wishing her all the best..
