I loved when Roger called Joan.
I think it was reflective of that....The "i just met the girl/man I'm going to marry" seems to belong in that era more than now, KWIM.

Love roger and joan.
hate joans husband...when does he ship out aready??

It seems like Betty and Don are most in love with themselves. In some respects they are the same. They both want to be wanted, cherished, and 1st in everyone's lives. The children are many times an afterthought to them. Even if Don gets back with teacher he will grow bored and cheat (he likes a conquest). And Betty seems to be getting swept up in courtship (as she was with Don before they got married). If Betty and Henry get married she will grow bored and fall out of love again as soon as the honeymoon phase is over.

^^ I loved the idea of Roger & Joan together...I hope they get back together...I am sure the writers are setting up Joan's husband to be killed in Vietnam...what are the chances??

Also, I don't know if Betty has the conviction to leave Don. After he walked away from her she just kinda collapsed into the sofa like, "Now what?"

I think he best part of the episode was seeing Don absolutely devastated...he deserves devastation for his behavior!!

PS
Is it wrong that I love Don Draper?? LOL :)

She's not going anywhere, and she shouldn't. Not now or then!

Absolutely not. I am a fan but I don't swoon over him to the point where it turns into a bias and his hotness justifies everything. Salad anyone?

I just love all the little matching hats that a lot of the ladies wear with their outfits. I love Roger's new wife's red suit with the leopard trim! I would totally wear that today!

I guess I need to do some shopping.

I don't see Betty leaving Don either. And no it's not wrong that you love him! I should have felt bad for Betty in that situation, but I'm so in love with Don Draper that I wanted to cry when he went up to the bedroom and collapased into the chair! I hate Betty!!!

don's hotness doesn't justify anything. we like the character despite some of his crappy actions, because we see what's behind them, and we see him in his private moments. i wouldn't call that justification, i'd call that something closer to understanding. and it's got nothing to do with how he looks, it's got to do with writing.

Sweet, I should star as Don Draper if they can't get Jon Hamm to come back.

They used Kennedy's asassination to tie in the characters, I believe. I really thought they would time it out so the asassination would happen in the season finale.

PS - anyone dress up as a Mad Men character for Halloween? I went as Joan Holloway and only 2 GUYS recognized me. lol. I saw a girl and a guy dressed as Betty and Don, though "Don" looked more like Peter!

I'd either dress up as Peggy Olson or Bertram Cooper.

they're strange in that way- an episode or two before the finale always feels much more like a finale

if i went as a madmen character for halloween, i'd have to go as the secretary, who was also on mad tv, the one who prank called peggy. i can't think of anyone else i'd fit as

Matthew Weiner was a writer and producer on The Sopranos and they did the exact same thing there as well - the most dramatic episodes were always the second last of the season.

Peggy to Don: "Why are you here?" Don answered, "All the bars are closed." Funny!

^that was LOL!

personally, i think MW is FAR better suited to mad men *duh it's his show i know* than he was to sopranos. the episodes of sopranos that he did, esp near the end, i'm not gonna lie... i did NOT like

You'd have to go shoeless if you went as Bert Cooper.
