Since Season One, Don and Sal have always gotten along. There's a comfort level between them.
I thought the season premiere started off slow but in the end I was satisfied. I can't wait to see how these new storylines pan out. And yes, Don is at it again

LOLLLL, dude..... you are thinking about this the right way. I mean, as charming and handsome as I'M SURE you are... men who look like Don Draper get away with SO MUCH. Its not just a female phenomenon, and I don't think people want to admit that, if they realize it at all. |

Ok, what I really want to know..... was it actually Don's birthday? Cause that was so random and out of nowhere, but that totally made that whole scene for me. Theres no logic as to why... it just did. Are the writers THAT intuitive, I dunno.. lolll.
As for 'limit exposure'... it seemed like a piece of advice, but it also could have been an acknowledgment of 'this stays between us'. I'm glad someone knows Sal's secret, and who better than someone who is such a master of his own secrets. ![]() I'm liking the Pete vs. Ken non rivalry. I'm hoping maybe Pete will break out the rifle sometime soon. His character works best when he is wronged/ pissed off, etc. I'd say Emmy for that guy, (he deserved that nomination way more than Roger Sterling IMO) but I'm all about Jesse from Breaking Bad this time around... There wasn't a whole lot of the women in this ep, but they are just getting started, and it feels like they've set up a whole lot of things already... I'm excited about how its all going to get rolling

i think it was his birthday (his actual birthday i mean, not "don drapers," which is why no one else knew...and also ties in with the flashbacks about the about the circumstances of his birth in the beginning of the epiosde...)

I liked it. Especially the part with Pete and Ken. Can't wait to see what happens next week.

I was wondering how the hotel worker (bellboy?) was so sure about Sal that he was willing to take that chance. I don't know if he noticed that Sal didn't go up with the other flight attendant or if he was just able to read Sal, but that was a pretty risky move to do. If Sal were hetero or were in denial (more than he is) then the bellboy could have been fired and outed all in one night. I guess he's banking on the idea that even if he's wrong it will be so embarrassing for the other person (given the time period) that nothing will ever be said?

I'd love to see Pete come up with some amazing ads/presentations the way that Don does. Peggy is already doing this. It adds dynamic to the show when you know Don isn't the only horse pulling the wagon. |

I don't know, but the busboy was very aggressive, you're right. Weiner said that Sal being Catholic... he probably felt that the abrupt halt was what he deserved. |

BTW, where did Duck Phillips go? I know that he started drinking again at the end of season two and exploded during the big merger meeting, but what happened to him? And Tangerine, I was thinking the same thing about the "limiting exposure" comment on Don's part to Sal...that's one of the things I love the most about this show. So many double meanings! |
