Oh wow... I haven't been to this thread in awhile-- but it's probably often buried by other popular threads in this section.

Hate to be the bearer of bad news... and I'm sure some of you have already heard... tragically, not long after Lee Eon's death, another actor, Ahn Jae Hwan was found dead on Sept. 8 (he died much earlier as his body was already decomposed when he was found)... reportedly, he committed suicide because of debts from failed business ventures. Very, very tragic and my heart goes out to his family and wife, Jung Sun Hee (some of you may recognize her on variety shows like Heroine 6 and many others)... Many fellow celebs attended the funeral to pay tribute as well.

Way too many lives cut short in the Korean entertainment industry in recent years... :*(

Choi Jin Shil Commits suicide!

I just can't believe it. My heart goes out to her two small kids. The korean netizens are vicious and cruel. They don't realize how powerful their words are to some people. I hope the girl who started rumors about her who was arrested gets jail time.

I saw it all over the news yesterday... and it even made it on NY Times, BBC News, etc.

I just couldn't get myself to post it in this thread... terribly sad, shocking and tragic. :( Too many deaths in the entertainment industry in recent years...

NOT AGAIN!! Model Kim Ji-hoo commits suicide

Ok. This has become absolutely ridiculous!! One suicide is way too many. But more? The number of suicides since Choi Jin-shil’s untimely departure has tragically risen.

At the tender age of 23, Kim Ji-hoo committed suicide as a result of rabid netizens who harassed the model for being gay. The model was part of the tvN program, “Coming out” and that didn’t sit well with some people.

Kim Ji-hoo was found dead on October 7th in the same manner as Choi Jin-shil. Police confirm that the death as suicide.

Please no more!

The Korean government needs establish a better social system so that the troubled can easily reach out and seize the help they desperately need. Although the government is reviewing a law to protect people from the spread of vicious rumors and slanderous comments on the internet, that may not be enough. Social pressures are what drives people to do things that they feel is the only way out. Feeling cornered with no alternatives results in desperate measures. What Korea really needs is an overhaul in the way our people think. And that will take time….if not generations.

It’s extremely sad and depressing to think that ending your life is the only answer. It’s not. It shouldn’t be. Life is too precious- we are here only for a short time and we must try to enjoy every minute we have.

This needs to stop.

Rest in peace.

It’s been belatedly revealed that Jang Geun-seok, playing musical genius extraordinaire in MBC’s Wednesday-Thursday hit Beethoven Virus, was recently involved in an auto accident.

His management company issued a statement on November 2 giving the general facts of the accident: it occurred last week in the city of Incheon at an intersection. The vehicle Jang had been riding in was waiting at a traffic signal when it was hit by another vehicle making a turn. Jang’s auto was “very damaged.”

His management added, “The car driven by a fortysomething woman had been making a left turn even though the light had already changed. Instead, she ignored the light and kept driving, and hit Jang Geun-seok’s car.”

Jang headed to the hospital directly following the accident and was declared fine with no big injuries; he suffered merely muscle aches. Following a consultation with his own doctor, he returned to work
