I swear I discover a bag that I forgot that I even had every time I clean my closet.
I would love to do the wall opposite my closet (I have a hallway from my master to the ensuite, w/ closet on one side and empty wall on the other) in something like this. Actually though, before I did that, I need Billy in my living room. I have a plan for half of one long wall, floor to ceiling, in Billy w/ a couple CD towers, to accommodate my huge book/CD/growing DVD collections.

However, I do find myself not being really aware, or "mindful" of what I already have in my collection, because they're stored in dustbags, in stacks and on shelves in 2 - now spilling into a 3rd - closets. I took stock a couple months ago and made a written list of every bag in every closet, which helps. I can now go to the list and at least see a verbal description of what I have, but I need to start thinking more of what I have before buying something else ... or ... thinking of ... selling (ouch!!). I'm still yearning for a Timber Boogie, but as mentioned earlier, I have a lovely olive satchel that's never been worn, and although I will be getting at least one more Boogie, I'd like to see all of spring's colours 1st.

My biggest temptation right now, and I may still give into it, is to call MHB Monday and get them to add a Cherry Boogie to my current order before it ships. If so though, I'm not going to allow myself to buy a third Boogie for a while at least, so I'm trying to make myself wait till Alex is done w/ the trade show (she said 1/5-1/7). We shall see, but this is a really good thread, because typing it all out, and seeing others' comments and similar dilemas does help.

aklein, funny you mentioned that bookcase because I had been looking at the very same one for the past 2 weeks or so!

I'm definitely done for awhile. I wasn't too bad last year, though. I got the Berry Blue Minilisa in the Spring, the Espresso Mona Lethal around August, and the Smoke Sexbomb in early October - those were the 3 full priced bags I told myself I could have. (tPF discount not withstanding, because that just about covers the tax).

Then I did a little damage at the sale, but even then I wasn't too bad; I spent all of my birthday money, and my Christmas bonus (which is always small, but I'll take it). The only bag I bought that was really unplanned was the Ignes, and I do really like it though I haven't let myself use it yet because I don't know how it does in bad weather.

But, all in all it was not an insane year. I managed to pass up that GORGEOUS Lawn Boogie at BAG! That deserves a round of applause, if I do say so myself! I even sold my first bag. I know a huge part of keeping myself in line was that I wasn't really on tPF during the times between my purchases though, so I may have to abstain now and then.

Right now I am trying to dye one bag (not going well) and I have one stashed away. What I REALLY need is clothes, or I'm going to have to start wearing my bags strategically placed.

Anyhoo, that's my 2009 recap and I'm going to stick with my ING Bag Fund idea for 2010. Wish me luck!

Applause, beeb! I'm with you...pretty soon the bags won't matter if I'm wearing rags! I have to hit the outlets next weekend with a very strict list for work clothes and, ahem, underwear. I need to make my list and set a price limit - no straying!

I thought it might help me to make a list of my current lusts. I will come back and revisit later to see if I still want them.

Tano Lusts:
On The Rise
Toasted Almond Something
Black with Brown Boogie - I totally do not need this since I have Black/Black Boogie
Tumbleweed Something in Brown Sugar
Fashion Bailout wallet

Non-Tano Lusts:
Treesje Marley
Treesje Larchmont - does anyone have this? Do you like it?
LV Speedy 35 - vintage. I have been looking for the perfect vintage 35 for two years. When I find the one I want, I'm grabbing it. I guess this one is more love than lust.
Rebecca Minkoff Nikki - I got on the waitlist for one at Avelle. I want to try before I buy, as I fear this bag may be just too puddly for me. If I do like it, I will only buy on major sale, or from Bonanz or the bay, and only in a neutral or color not in my bag wardrobe. I'm thinking maybe orange or yellow. No greens, purples, or brown!
Rebecca Minkoff Devote - I just used built-up rewards points to borrow one of these from Avelle in a beautiful cognac color. Will try it for a month for free, and I'm pretty sure I'll be over it by then. If not, then I'll have to decide between a Devote and Nikki.

For now, I'm loving my Dove Boogie...Lagoon is being saved for either Spring or when I'm deep into my Winter blues and need a pick-me-up!

How do you like borrowing from Avelle? I set up an account, but I always chicken out of renting anything. Do you use it to test drive bags before you buy?

Luv, have you seen the www.portero.com website? They often have vintage LV on there!

Great idea to make a lust list - I will do this later, but I'm going to add prices to mine lol

^Great idea to have a "lust" list! I am going to add mine!
Currently I am lusting after:
Tano Favorite Bookend in Brown Sugar
Tano French Nanny in Lagoon
Tano Boogie in Espresso or Bark (I could actually switch it around to a Lagoon Boogie and brown French Nanny---haven't decided which is best yet :)

Wow a list is a good mindfull thing indeed! Seeing TWO brown bags on my list screams at me "How many brown bags do you actually need??!"

Luv, do you have my lusted-after Black Sex Bomb? I'll trade you my Brown trimmed Black Boogie for it!

I'm not making a lust list, though it is a good idea. I've convinced myself that ignoring the bags is a better idea for me, or else I will talk myself into buying them.

This is the same approach I am taking. I figure if there is something that I absolutely loooove, it will eventually show up on ebay or bonanzle.
I have also deleted MHB and all the other places that I know that sell Tano from my internet browser favorites. I don't need the temptation.

I think I would love an Immeasurable in Toasted Almond. I found some great bargains on eBay, brand new bags at a terrific price, an Immeasurable, a Depeche, In The Know, and the latest, Self Service. My rule (although I've broken it with the tumbleweed bags) is not to pay over $200 for a bag. If I buy something and don't immediately love it when I get it, it goes back the next day. I try really hard not to buy on impulse, for example, I saw a Mona Lethal in toasted almond on MHB yesterday and felt like I HAD to have it... today, not so much.
