It would be nice if people who actually OWNED the bags would give input into these threads, not the people who "saw" a Tano once or twice. I think my peeve is that some people assume that Tanos are cheap because of their price point and that Tano quality is a touchy subject because there is an assumption that those who buy Tanos can't afford anything more expensive. Well we have many girls here who buy several Tanos within a short period of months, so I think affordability is really not an issue. It's like assuming that the person driving the BMW is richer than the person driving the Toyota. Enough of my rambling...
BTW, they merged 2 threads one from the general handbag subforum and the one here. Some of the posts are missing...

Those of us who claim this SF as our own over 150 Tano bags. (See this thread: How Many Tano's Do we own? )

Lots of people who frequently post in this SF have 3 or more Tano bags.

Tano is a growing brand with a growing fan base, and is sold at some of the best stores in the world. For example, Bergdorf Goodman is now entering its 4th season selling Tano (on the 5th floor- check them out!) Neiman Marcus will begin carrying Tano this Fall. Fred Segal in LA has been selling them for 3 or 4 years now...Barney's, Anthropologie, and over a thousand boutiques across the US...

Of course not everyone likes Tano (or any other brand) but for those of us that do, welcome to the Tano SF here on TPF!

Perfectly said, Tano Expert! I LOVE my Tano bags. Never have I been happier with any other brand as I have with Tano. They are beautiful, well made bags.

Default Love the Tano

Everybody has their own taste - personally, I don't care for bags that look like what everyone else is carrying. Tanos have so many styles and leathers and colors - where I live, I have never seen one in use, but how many bags with "C"'s or other tired initials all over them do you see - tons and tons and tons to the point where the really expensive ones end up looking like cheap copies. I can't own enough Tanos - since I just ordered another one yesterday, be sure to let me know when the next Tano Anonymous meeting is!

lol @ tano anonymous... every day here on TPF! at whatever time works for you hehehe except instead of helping an addiction we truly do help it... we help you continue your addiction! HEHE!

Tano Expert you have made some amazing points and I also was curious as to why a HUGE leather bag from tano at $200-$250 is over priced!? I don't get it. I mean yes; I buy coach for that amount but the bags are small and often times jacquard fabric! I love my coach as well but NEVER buy it full price and I love that I can buy BIG bags for cheaper and get leather! I TANO!

I Tano, too, and I've only just gotten my first two bags. I waited a long time before trying them - spent months looking at them but continued to try other things. Well, I can't believe I waited so long to try these bags! I've been carrying my Most Mysterious and I love it so much more than a similar bag, by a different designer, which I've had in the past and loved. This beats it, for sure!! And I can't wait to try my Boogie. I, too, love that they have soooo many styles, so many colors, and the price is right for someone like me, who can really only afford to have a small "stash." I'm thrilled with my Tanos, LOVE the crunch leather because I've always been so afraid to carry my other leather bags in the past, and I'm not at all worried about this leather. I also love that you don't see Tanos everywhere you go - I like feeling unique!! I was feeling a bit frustrated when it seemed someone else was trying to rain on my Boogie parade, so to speak, when I posted that I was ordering a Boogie. I love it and I'm so glad I finally bought it.

Ok, wow, holy rambling by me. Sorry!! This is all just to say that I am totally in love with Tano now, and I'm thrilled to say that I really think I have found a brand of bag that I will actually keep and not get bored with, as I have always done in the past.

And I will also say that I love the Tano SF!! I've only been posting for a week but I've always felt welcome here. It's my new "home base" on TPF, and it's all the wonderful ladies here who are so helpful and genuinely thrilled about Tano that make it the great place it is.

And now I am getting off my soapbox.

Oh, and can we call it "Tanonymous"? LOL!!

I also LOVE Tano. I have a wide range of bags ranging up to $800 for a single bag from Rebecca Minkoff, Belen Echandia, Kooba, LV, etc.

IMO, Tano is at a perfect price point. What other brand gives a multitude of styles and new colors each and every season at around $200, many which fall under this mark. Sure Tano could use some improvements such as a better lining and compartments and hopefully they will work on that, but dismissing that, the price isn't bad at all. You can't buy a Casio and expect a Rolex. Tanos are very tough bags and last through a lot. They smell yummy as well and get soft and broken in over time.

The whole point of crunch is their durability. You cannot expect a soft, buttery leather from a leather aptly called CRUNCH. However, there are the lenny and cloud leathers for those who do not like glazed leathers. I personally love how waterproof and tough the glaze is which is why I love crunch apart from leathers that are buttery from RM, etc.

Not every brand will appeal to everyone. Thank goodness or there would only be one style of bag out there! Yikes how boring!

I do think it is odd why someone would come into a sub-forum and make neg comments.... if you don't like the brand why in the world are you bothering to read it's sub-forum?

I personally love Tano. For me they are perfect. So many styles to choose from, wonderful colors, super lightweight, and affordable. I have tried many many brands, some I love, some I like, some I just don't get. I am so glad I found one I really appreciate.

Go Tano!

I just wanted to add that it is a misconception that Tanos are bags for people who cannot afford "higher-end" bags. Many of the women here can easily afford pricier brands but CHOOSE Tano over the other bags because they love them. I own many other designer bags - some much "higher-end" than Tano - and I plan on buying Tano again this season. It is preference and not price!

Again, not all brands appeal to all people. That's the nature of a handbag. But the quality, workmanship and leather Tano uses are a bargain at the pricepoint. I cannot imagine how some people consider non-leather bags at three times the price a good buy and call Tano overpriced.

This happens with any Tano thread that starts on the general handbag subforum.

I think it is interesting that nobody has really been able to find a comparable bag (BIG 100% Italian leather bags) at the same price point to prove the "point" that Tanos are overpriced for their quality. Personally I like being different. I'm not going to buy a purse just because celebrityX was photographed walking around with it.
The fact that Tano has it's own subforum says a lot about the brand. Kudos Tano ladies for keeping things positive/intelligent here and not petty!
