So as you can see today I received my preorder of one of the new Fall bags. I decided to go with the Sound Track since by looking at the sample photos it looked like Tano was trying a new leather outside their usual Lux. I now have two in such a leather and I figured the Sound Track, although only appearing to be made in sugar brown and black, wouldn't be a bad choice.
I wasn't wrong! Here she is unwrapped out of the plastic and upright.
First off let me say that I could smell the leather as I began to unwrap the bag. That to me in a great indicator in my book! The bag itself is lightweight and the texture feels great. It isn't smooth and shiny like the Lux is, instead it is a sturdy matte finish and has around the same thickness quality as the Lux. The rolled handles feel great in the hand and the way they slide up and down depending on how you wear the bag is a nice touch.
The interior of the bag is standard fare Tano: similar colored lining with one zipper pocket and two full-leather slip ins. What I love about the bottom is that it is NOT flat, it actually has a stitched in rounded base so that when it is filled it (presumably) slumps in place and not topple over.
This is part of the thin crossbody strap and only strap the bag comes with. The black spots you're seeing looks to me to be the coating they added to the edges of all the leather handles, something different to the other Lux bags I own that has the rough edges. The top and underside of the strap are the same texture, something I appreciate. I do not mind the spots! It adds character to the leather IMO and just how it was made.
A glimpse of the gunmetal hardware. All of the clasps, zipper parts and loops look like this and it really looks nice overall. The hardware works just fine; no snags or difficulty working the top of the bag. Adjusting the strap is no problem. The strap clasps are sturdy and are not weak in closing themselves.
OVERALL: A really great fall bag that can go with anything. The leather feels great, construction is solid and what originally had me concerned with its size was just not an issue with this bag. The width of it is perfect for someone of my body type. No size or length issues are with this one.
I will post more photos once I have treated it with water/stain repellent and let it dry. I'll put my stuff inside it and do a few shots of me wearing it as well :)
